Hello my fellow gardener and farmer! I hope you're all doing well. Have a wonderful day!
Living here in the farm changed the way we see food and daily living. Life is not perfect and farming is not easy, but this is a real and reality of our life. Every day we see our effort in our banana plants and rice field. These two crops may look simple but the truth is they sustain our family.

When we decided to focus on farming, we chose crops that we actually consume. Banana is one of our best choices. It does not require so much effort and financing you do not need any materials to start just the seedlings. Once planted and making sure the soil stays healthy. After a few months, it begins to bear fruit.

What I like most about banana is that it keeps producing. When one plant gives fruit and finishes, new shoots are already growing beside it. It continues without needing replanting every time. That is why I can say banana is get practical. It is also easy to sell. Neighbors, friends and even small buyers look for bananas because it is affordable and useful some cook it, sell it and best for our body.

At home, banana is always part of our food. We boil it for snacks, fry it when we want something sweet, or add it to dishes. When we have visitors, we are not worried about what to give. We can always share bananas from our farm, it is from the heat of our own hard work.

Rice on the other hand is our main crop. It requires more patience, preparing the land. Planting takes time and effort. Then we wait for almost 120 days before harvest. We depend on good weather and proper care. There are times we feel tired especially my husband during sis is too hot or when rain comes unexpectedly.

But when harvest time arrives, everything feels worth it. Seeing the rice ready to be stored gives security. We know that for the coming months, we have food on the table. We do ot worry too much about buying rice because we have our own supply. Rice sustains our daily needs

For us, sustainable farming means planting what we eat. It means less dependence on the market and more confidence that our family will not go hungry. It is about being stable and prepared all times.

I encourage everyone to plant banana, even just all the side of your house. It does not need a big space. One or two plants can already help your family. If you have vacant land, try planting rice even just enoughy for daily consumption. Start small and grow from there.

Thank you for reading my story, the lead photo was edited in Canva. Farming is hard work, but it teaches us responsibility. When we harvest something we planted with our own hands, the feeling is different, we can feed our own family that is already a big success.
