Hello, friends and fellow garden lovers! 💚🌿
I want to share with you my experience in planting radish. We planted half a kilo of radish seeds in almost 500 square meters of land. This is our little radish garden story, from planting to harvest and I hope it can inspire you to try planting your own, even in your backyard.
We started by preparing the soil and removing the grass and rocks. After that, we scattered the radish seeds evenly on the ground. Radish seeds are very affordable, so you don’t need a big budget to start. Then we covered the seeds with light soil and watered them every day.
Here in our place, we don’t use any chemical spray for radish. We only use organic fertilizer like chicken manure. It’s natural and safe for the plants, and also good for the environment.
After planting radish seeds, few days we saw tiny green coming out of the soil. Radish grows very fast, that’s one of the things I love about it. It only takes 30 days and you can already harvest!
I noticed that radish doesn’t need a lot of money to grow. It’s a simple crop, but it gives you a good harvest, even if you don’t have a big farm, you can plant radish in your backyard or even in pots. Just water it, give it sunlight and in one month, you will have fresh radish from your garden to your kitchen. No need to buy from the market.
Now. There are many new recipes for radish. Before, I only knew radish in sinigang, salads and pickled radish, But now, there’s more like ginisang radish, radish with sardines, radish chips and many more. And of course, radish has many health benefits. It’s good for digestion, helps reduce sugar levels, and it’s full of vitamins! As I read in our best friend google.
When it’s time to harvest, we just cut the stems, wash the radish properly and let them dry for 20 minutes. After drying, we arrange them on our papag or any area so they don’t stay wet. Once they’re dry, we place them inside sacks, and they are ready to deliver to the market.
The radish we harvested is saleable. Were happy because all our hard work for one month paid off. The buyers love that our radish is organic and fresh. Its nice to see people buying and enjoying something you grew with your own hands.
Radish farming is not just about planting and earning. It taught me patience and be thankful in small things. You wait, take care of it and in just 30 days we are blessed with a harvest.
So, if you have space at home, even just small garden, try it now to plant radish. It’s easy, fast and healthy. You don’t need expensive chemicals or tools, just soil, seeds and water. Also, your passion to take care of it.
