It's the weekend and it's exactly three months I last set my eyes on Auntie Janet. I decided to pay her a surprise visit.
When I got to her compound, Sandra her daughter told me how her mother had gone to her garden.
Auntie Janet is very industrious and has about two farmlands. She's very passionate about gardening and her zeal inspires me a lot. The first one garden is right behind her house where she had planted cassava, plantain and tomatoes.
I stood at the window to get a better view of her garden and one thing that drew my attention was how each of these plants were blooming. I felt like she poured so much loving into these plants in forms of water and nurturing.
After gazing at these plants for a moment, I decided to go to Auntie Janet's second farmland to see her which was a bit far from their house.
The roads were quite lonely and I almost got discouraged. Where I come from, lonely roads are often the opportunity for the "bad guys" to operate so I was quite mindful of how I trod that path. Many twist and turns but I stayed focused. The goal was to get to Auntie Janet despite all odds.
As soon as I got to Auntie Janet, her excitement made me felt so happy. She was really surprised to see me and so she decided to take me around her garden. Trust me to capture details I find fascinating and starting off was the pretty blue sky and beautiful coconut trees I saw.
Then Auntie Janet showed me one plant that wowed me. She called it the "miracle plant" Used for different purpose and cures many ailment.
One thing she said about this plant is, it grows almost anywhere and it doesn't die easily.
This plant here can be used to cure cough, ear pain, headache, kidney stones and so many ailment I can't remember. For different ailment, it can be used in different ways.
I admired the versatility of the plant so much and had to take a shot of it. I've seen this plant grow somewhere in my garden but never knew the worth.
I asked for the botanical name but forgot almost immediately I left her garden. It was quite hard to remember hehe but one thing I'll never forget is that, it is a multi purpose plant, for beautification and for medicine.
Do you also have this miracle leaf in your garden? If you do, have you tried using it as medicine?
We left the garden together for her house after spending a moment and I felt informed. No knowledge is actually a waste and my time spent with her was worth it.

The botanical name of this miracle leaf is kalanchoe pinnata.
In my University this miracle plant is present. I saw them. In my childhood, I ate miracle plant leaves. One of my friends said that it is used as medicine when we feel uncomfortable in our belly, like pain. It reduces the pain.
My Friend Hena and I ate these leaves to taste. How did they taste? Could we eat or not? We thought, is it a bitter taste? But we eat because it has health benefits. We knew that its taste was not bad. It has not a bitter taste. The exact taste I don't remember. If I eat in the future, I will share it. Thank you for sharing your post.
Oh yeah that's the name she called it. Thank you so much๐ฅฐ

The garden looks great... shows your aunt's dedication ๐
Yeah it shows. Thanks for stopping by.
Hmm, I also know the name of the plant but I have forgotten it right now. I have heard of its various usage and can attest to it being a miracle plant.
Your aunt's garden looks good.
I wish you could remember the name. Thanks for visiting.
Don't worry when I do , I will surely let you know
Your aunt has a very nice garden, you can see that she is a very hard working woman and above all that she knows what she is doing ๐
Truly, she is a very hardworking woman. Thanks for coming around.
Many medicinal plants can be of benefit, and many of the drugs we use come from plants originally!
I'm glad you made it safely out there, lonely roads can be dangerous anywhere because the "bad" guys take advantage of the lack of witnesses around.
