Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands community engagement challenge for this week. For this week's challenge, I want to talk about the mana and the elements in the splinterlands game.
Accoring to lore.splinterlands.com about the evolution of mana in splinterlands, "from time in time immemorial, innumerable calamities beset the realm that would become the Splinterlands. Subsequently, the boundaries between it and other realms and planes broke down. Creatures never before seen spilled forth, and great tides of mana poured in from the Beyond, filling the ether."
Basically, this is saying that after the calamities fell on the splinterlands realm, the realm became divided and creatures or as we call them, monsters gained access into the splinterlands realm. Now, the broken down planes have been closed but that hasn't stopped the creatures or better put, mana from entering into the splinterlands realm.
However, we cannot see, touch or feel the mana but we can harness the power to cast spells or store the power. From this influx of creatures is where the 6 elements have come from and their various creatures or monsters.
The splinterlands card game is a game of strategy that allows players to select monsters or cards from what we call decks. These decks are grouped into elements and as such, the card you select is almost always exlcusive to an element except in instances where the card or monster belongs to a neutral element. In neutral elements, the cards you find there can be found in all other elements.
The elements available to the splinterlands game includes earth, water, fire, death, life and neutral. There is quite a unique element known as the dragon element that allows the selection of some
"unique" or "special" cards.
For some of the elements, their characteristic color give them away but for some, it's not the case. We know water is assciated with the color blue and that is what is seen in splinterlands with the cards that
belong to the water element. With the water element, it has to do with in streams, sea, rivers, and rainfall and lakes.
It's the same case for the fire element monsters as their characterisitc color is red. Fire element is seen in places or heat. Death as far as I know and from the part of the world I come from is usually denoted by the color black but its not same for splinterlands.
Death in spl is associated with darkness and shadow where as life looks yellowish. Dragon element in the game is quite different as its color distinguishes itself from the other elements as they generate their own elements.

Thank you.
