Crownrend the web3 game on Hive blockchain ~ A perfect Match

Hello Hello fellow Calderans!

This is Lord Tengolotodo from the READY Kingdom on Calderan and today it is my pleasure to participate in the superlative social media event from the Crownrend team and show you how I have been forging my destiny with my kingdom in our war-torn realm of Calderan!

In doing so I will be answering the following questions:

• What is Crownrend and HIVE?
• How did you start it and his journey? Where did you see the Crownrend game, in the announcement post?
• What is your favorite and least favorite thing about Crownrend?
• What is your goal for your kingdom?

What is Crownrend and HIVE?

- What is Crownrend?

Crownrend is a incremental, semi-idle, online strategy game operating on the Hive blockchain.

CrownRend is set in the Middle Ages and players manage and develop their kingdoms by upgrading various stats. A core gameplay mechanic involves raiding other players' kingdoms to acquire resources. Whether you are successful or not generally depends on your kingdom's strength.

CrownRend utilizes Hive Keychain for seamless integration and features its own in-game tokens called DENAR and ORI. Players passively earn DENAR but can also actively raid others to steal unclaimed DENAR. Claimed DENAR can then be used to further upgrade their kingdom's army and economy or buying chests.

Strategy comes into play deciding whether to focus on offensive army strength for more effective raids or defensive army toughness to protect against attacks. I still have not really chosen my path yet.

- What is Hive?

Hive the blockchain that hosts CrownRend is a decentralized and open-source platform known for its fast feeless transactions and strong community focus.

Hive employs a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism.

Hive is designed to support various Web3 applications, content creation, and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Hive is not a shiny new toy. It's been around for a few years and has grown into a thriving ecosystem of hundreds of dapps, communities & projects. Hive is home to some of the most used Web3 dapps in the world, such as Splinterlands, PeakD, and Ecency. Hive has a range of tools and platforms making it a versatile and perfect blockchain for game development such as CrownRend.

It really is no wonder that @deathwing and @mrtats the two co-founders chose to build Crownrend on Hive.

How did you start this journey?

CrownRend officially went live on the 7th of January this year 2025 when @deathwing one of the cofounders published Announcing Crownrend | A Kingdom-Building Online Strategy Game!. I had seen a few snaps and threads about it.

Then I saw a post from a fellow Saturday Saver on Hive @doombot75 which was appropriately named Taking the Crown and talked about his joining the game.

So on the 12th of January 2025 I commented on his post with the following comment ...

True to my word I signed up to the game via his referral link.

At the time the starter price to join worked out at 19.429 Hive which I duly paid as you can see below.

This got me my little village! This quote from the announcement post says it all...

What is your favorite and least favorite thing about Crownrend?

☑️ What is your favorite thing about Crownrend?

When some asks me what is my favourite song or film I give them more than one. I mean how can you choose?

Likewise I can't only choose 1 favourite thing. So I listed some things about the game that I like and that I am sure prospective Kingdom recruits will like to know!

• First things first, I love simple things, I often find them the best. Crownrend is simple. There are no complex card order permutations that you need to master before you go into battle that just do your head in!

• You claim your DENAR every four hours, but can only claim what you vault can hold. This means it keeps people active. If you don't upgrade things from time to time, you game suffers! That is cool as it keeps people active!

• Importantly there is an active Discord server where the two founders are present and give us updates on bugs, progress on the wishlist and have an informal marketplace for items.

• I like that we keep levelling up and up, it is us to us to make our Kingdom big!

• I will touch on this further in my goal for my kingdom, but I love the fact that there are now Alliances!

❌ What is your least favorite thing about Crownrend?

People that know me say I am a pedantic so and so.

However, there was no VC funding for Crownrend development. They did not sell things for months or even years whilst they allegedly built the game or did a rug pull and disappear with bags of crypto.

As a consequence, there are bugs that are being fixed as we go along. That makes it exciting though!

The only complaints I have are:

• Sometimes when you attack people the list has scrolled or the person has vanished and in an instant the kingdom that you were going to attack and steal their Denars has been replaced by a big baddie who skelps your arse and takes your Denars! It does not really happen very often, but I had to say something!

• I did join an Alliance and we do have a Discord server for the alliance, but it would be good if there was an in game chat mechanism like there is for guilds/alliances in other games. So that is just hearsay...

I have heard grumblings of the Alliance War algo being unfair. However I have not participated in a war yet. The War mechanism has also been reworked and the first battles are tonight!

The mechanics of the game I like, and there are other more experienced gamers who add to the wishlist in the Crownrend Discord server.

What is your goal for your kingdom

The humble beginnings.

I won't dwell on the beginning too much as you can read my first few days progress in Are you READY for CROWNREND the New HIVE game

This was my first kingdom and you can see everything was level 1!

Fast forward to today and my kingdom stats are now much improved!

You can see that my kingdom is called READY and now has a Kingdom power of 877.14 which has me ranked number 93.

You can also see that I am now in an Alliance.

This is an exciting addition to the game.

I saw a comment in the Crownrend Discord by @silentriot that his alliance had a spot open.

I applied and hey ho I became the 10th member on 31st March 2025.

Remember I have been mentioning the war feature?

Well it kicks off tonight and our leader has put us into various zones.

I am battling in Zone 3.

This got me to thinking! I need to GROW!

So what did I do?

I went to the Market Place and purchased some kingdom items, is what I did.

There were about ten or so that I bought, so I won't show them all here.

You get the idea, my new item is on the left and you can see that it has been stats than the item on the right.

At the moment the old items are still equipped.

I need to unequip the existing items and equip the new ones.

Once I do this my kingdom power will increase my stats are going up.

That is the plan anyway, let's do it and see.

☑️ SUCCESS

It worked.... My Kingdom Power has risen to 1.1k and I have moved up the rankings to 86th in the game.

How to Grow?

Peer Pressure is a fantastic tool for growth in many things.

Tonight is the first battle of the war. I don't want to let my fellow Alliance members down. As a result I will be dedicating more Hive to the REALM kingdom.

It is a win-win, the more I reinvest my Denar and some Hive for affitional chests, the more rewards I will claim which means the more my stats can grow and as a result our READY kingdom will keep on growing.

My goal with my READY kingdom

Quite simply my goal in Crownrend is to build a fluffing awesome kingdom and have fun along the way!
