Summer is here, or at least in the US and some other parts of the world. And the best thing that most gamers like me look forward to are the heavily discounted game titles from various platforms. I used to shop on Steam as I had my cousins playing games with me. But I've recently bought an OLED Nintendo Switch and decided to check out what's available in their eShop.

Now, Nintendo is notorious in the gaming community for having expensive titles. You still get some great deals though from time to time but generally, it is a bit pricier than other consoles. Although there is also a way to get very, very cheap deals on the Nintendo eShop and that is through the Argentina region. I'm not really sure as to the exact explanation why this is the case, probably related to what's happening in their economy. But this year's summer sale had my mouth watering with the deals.

Region Restrictions

There is one problem though when you attempt to purchase your games from the Argentina eShop and that is the mode of payment. Unlike other regions like Mexico and US, Argentina requires the users to transact their top-ups using only Argentinian credit/ debit cards. This means international cards won't work. Luckily, there were some workarounds available in my location. But the downside to using this method is that I had to pay about 250% more than the actual price. So for me to gain 10,000 ARS (8 USD) in my account, I had to pay 22 USD to the one providing the service.

My Summer Sale Hauls

And even though I only received half the value of what I paid for, the 10,000 ARS is more than enough to get me some amazing eShop deals. Here's a few of what I got:

Subnautica

Sale Price: 1,875 ARS / 1.51 USD

I've always seen Subnautica in various game reviews and wanted to try it out. The feeling of open world exploration is exciting and scary at the same time as the whole environment you are in is made up of water. It definitely triggers the thalassophobia in you and it works best when played in dock mode.

Diablo Prime Evil Collection

Sale Price: 1,976 ARS / 1.59 USD

This one here is one of the best deals. You get both the Diablo II: Resurrected and Diablo III in the Prime Evil Collection and just for $1.59. Now I get to relive my childhood memories in the comfort of my couch.

Metal Slug Tactics

Sale Price: 1,295 ARS - 1.05 USD

I've been looking forward to playing this game for the longest time. Metal Slug has always been a sidescrolling shooter and now they introduced a new tactics game. I've always admired their beautiful pixel art and humor. Getting this title for just one dollar is definitely a no-brainer.

Mortal Kombat 11

Sale Price: 539 ARS - 0.43 USD

Nintendo Switch's port of Mortal Kombat 11 was not well-received by the community due to some performance issues. When I played it, it did had some long loading times and the graphics are day-and-night compared to PS4 and PS5. But having said that, I still find it fun and entertaining. And for just forty cents, it's an offer you can't refuse.

These are some of the games I've acquired from this sale. There are a few to keep me busy for months and I just hope I find the time to play them. Thanks for reading.

If you had to pick between Subnautica and metal slug, which one you picking? As I have already played and completed the other too. Diablo is thee top-level except season 4 for me 😁🤭. Btw, thanks for sharing these sale updates. Have a good day!

I would say Subnautica, although some may find it boring because there's really no goal and the game just lets you do whatever you want. But for me, there's this sense of anxiety and panic about not knowing what's lurking in the water, which I haven't really felt while playing games in a long time. 😆
