Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - The Basics

Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog. Today I am taking a different dimension to my social media challenge for spl. Mostly what I do is to talk about a random stuff on spl. Today I’ll like to talk about a battle that I played yesterday.

Yes, I’ve done this a couple of times for social media challenge but today I’ll try to go deep into how you can manage a game with this type of rulesets and also how you can learn from the strategies of others to take full advantage.

So I recently realised that loosing a game is not as bad as it seems. Yes, we don’t all like to loose as loosing earns you no glint and no sps as well. Rather you go down in your league rating.

Ever since I had my cards upgraded I’ve been playing in modern and boy at the start of the season it’s not an easy thing for me. I’ve been in gold for a long time and hopefully in the next few months I’ll find diamond as easy as I think I find gold.

The thing is yes I find gold not that difficult but as I approach diamond III it is always a huge task for me. Since going into diamond requires that I play gold I I’ve realised that being in gold one is probably the hardest thing for me. A coupe of times I’ve managed to get out of gold I and then into diamond III but anytime I drop to gold I I get beaten to a pulp.

So I mostly stop playing when I loose a lot of games in gold I.

So let’s get into the battle.

Being in Gold means I get to play with 3 Rulesets. In this battle I was presented

Lost legendaries.

This means that only legendary monster may be used in battle.

Up close and personal.

This means I can only use melee cards in this battle.

With this Ruleset I can use any summoner I want but cards which are not melee may not be used. If I have dual attack on a card I can use it only if one of those attacks is melee.

Unprotected.

What this means is that all armor is removed from cards and also summoners cannot give armor to cards.

With this 3 rulesets in play I decided to go in for these abilities.

First of all since they are melee cards I decided to look for cards which have the demoralise ability. This means that it reduces the melee attack of all enemy cards by 1.

I then went in for cards with a lot of health as I knew that without shield I will be exposed.

Next is to go in for a card with retaliate ability if you have one. Fortunately on my side I had 2 so I put them on.

I didn’t have a lot of opportunity cards but u was able to get one and then a reach card.

3 of my cards couldn’t attack cause they didn’t have the reach or opportunity ability. But this was a game that I enjoyed.

With this type of russets the speed of your cards won’t matter a lot. Just concentrate on cards with a lot of health, retaliate and the demoralise abilities as well.

This is the first time that I have tried to explain some of the rulesets to the best of my abilities. Let’s see if it will be helpful.
