Pizza A Slice of Madness Brawl Report

Greetings to all Splinterlands players and gaming community! Welcome to Pizza A Slice of Madness Brawl Report. I will share our recent brawl guild reports today. Thanks to all our guild members who participated and helped us get fourth place. We had some tough guilds for opponents like Emerald Knights, Surging Bulls and Gank's Squadron. Our guild mates all did well and we ended up in fourth place.

Overall Guild Rank: Fourth Place

We finished with in fourth place, improving our placement from last week's sixth place. We won 76 games and only lost 23 earning 49 crowns. The third placer Gank's Squadron had a lot more wins with 91 while fifth placer YGG Brawlers was close with 72 wins. It's clear that the first three places are on a different level than fourth place and below.

Top Brawl Participants and my Personal Rank

I'm tied in fourth to seventh in our guild in terms of performance. We contributed seven wins to our guild. It's a big improvement from my disappointing contribution last week.

Selected Games

Battle 1

This is a game of speed vs shields. My opponent's archon and mine give different benefits to our team. My Fire archon add speed to the units while my opponent's Life archon gives shield. When forming my team, I consider the following: first, magic unit is taboo because of the Counterspell ruleset and second, Super Sneak encourages use of melee units but I also have to defend against it. So I chose Fire who has many melee units and having speed means I attack first. For gladiator card, I have this guy, level 2 Chimney Wallstop.

He has a lot of attack and defense and he's a melee unit that is fit in this battle. Then I placed a defender in my rear.

I made sure that melee units will feel the sting of thorns from Spellmonger.

My opponent chose a different route, choosing additional protection from shields. For his gladiator, he had a magic card that's not advisable because of Counterspell. Then he has New Beluroc Aegis for taunting. He also had Spellmonger in the last position same as my strategy.

My units got busy attacking his Beluroc Aegis while his magic unit was defeating my units. Each time it attacks it suffers from counterspell but she gets it back with bloodlust. As her attacks grow stronger so does the counterspell that returns 50% magic damage. Soon, the magic unit died and my gladiator card took over and won us the game.

Battle 2

Next battle has Explosive Weaponry (Blast) and Collateral Damage (Reckless) rulesets. I had Earth for the additional life stats and I wanted to use Quora who will be perfect in this game. She has two attacks that means blast will be triggered twice. She has healing that will recover life from opponent's damage and reckless damage from allies. Then I had Mad Gearhead to help defeat the opponent's tank. Last is Vengeful Monk. His opportunity skill will hit the opponent's mid units and hit more units with blast effect.

My opponent chose Death with a high life tank. His second unit is Spellmonger that will get hit with blast. Then he has another unit that does not attack yet. Last is a magic unit that also decreased my units life with its Weaken skill. Together with the Death archon debuff, my units started the game with minus two life.

My units died because of the reckless effect. But Quora was healing and her bloodlust activated with kills. She carried the battle and won for our team.

I bought only one chest and got the following rewards. Nothing exciting other than a gold foil card.

Conclusion

We earned 2,722 Merits and 22 SPS from the brawl. It's still lower from last week in terms of Merits but there are more SPS. I'm grateful to my guild for accepting me as a member and gave me a regular spot to join the brawls and earn guild rewards.
