Carnivores 2 is a sequel to Carnivores (1998), a very similar version but improved in terms of graphics and gameplay. It is based on a first person shooter game, the objective of which is to hunt Dinosaurs on an island for the DinoCorp.

We can find both Herbivores, those that do not attack, and carnivores, which give you the necessary adrenaline for a game of these characteristics.

Carnivores 2 es una secuela de Carnivores (1998), una versión muy parecida pero mejorada en cuanto gráficos y jugabilidad. Se basa en un juego de primera persona y shooter, cuyo objetivo es cazar Dinosaurios en una isla para la DinoCorp.
Podemos encontrar tanto Herbívoros, aquellos que no atacan, y los carnívoros, los cuales le dan la adrenalina necesaria para un juego de estas características.

Before hunting the dinosaurs, we have a menu where we choose various features:

• POINTS: With these we will be able to choose better maps, dinosaurs, weapons and equipment.
• LOCATIONS: They are the maps that we can choose, the more points that map has, the greater the difficulty and the possibility of seeing dinosaurs that we did not choose. On the other hand we can choose the time of day. At dawn the dinosaurs are calmer, in the afternoon they are normal and at night is when they are more aggressive and more active.
• DINOSAURS: The most important thing, we have from the easiest herbivores to hunt, to the most difficult carnivores, being the T-Rex the most difficult.
• WEAPONS: The weapons we have to start hunting. having the characteristics, strength, distance, and rate of fire.
• EQUIPMENT: The equipment which are free, but the more you choose, the less reward the dinosaurs give you. They are essential to avoid being seen, sniffed, the map and double the amount of bullets from weapons.

Antes de cazar a los dinosaurios, tenemos un menú en donde elegimos varias características:

• POINTS: Con estos vamos a poder elegir mejores mapas, dinosaurios, armas y equipamento.
• LOCATIONS: Son los mapas que podemos elegir, cuanto mayor cantidad de puntos tenga ese mapa, mayor es la dificultad y posibilidad de ver dinosaurios que no elegimos. Por otro lado podemos elegir el momento del día. Al amanecer los dinosaurios son más tranquilos, a la tarde, normales y a la noche es cuando son más agresivos y más activos.
• DINOSAURS: Lo más importante, tenemos desde los herbívoros más fáciles de cazar, hasta los carnívoros más dificil, siendo el T-Rex el mas dificil.
• WEAPONS: Las armas que tenemos para comenzar a cazar. teniendo las características, la fuerza, la distancia, y cadencia de tiro.
• EQUIPMENT: El equipamiento los cuales son gratis, pero cuanto mas elijas, menos recompensa te dan los dinosaurios. Son fundamentales para evitar ser vistos, olfateados, el mapa y doble cantidad de balas de las armas.

On the other hand we can see the characteristics of the Dinosaurs, being able to see the physical in terms of size and weight, and their characteristics of Vision, Smell and Hearing. In this case the Velociraptors is one of the most dangerous!

Por otra parte podemos ver las características de los Dinosaurios, pudiendo ver lo físico en cuanto tamaño y peso, y sus características de Visión, Olfato y Audición. En este caso el Velociraptors es uno de los más peligrosos!

As you can see, graphics are basic, but very good for the time, with very poor shadow details and ground quality, but much better than the prequel "Carnivores".

We can see on the map the RED point that is where we are, and the green points are the Dinosaurs that we have selected.

We have special binoculars where, in addition to increasing vision, we can see Weight and Distance characteristics. Although for the game it is indifferent, the points are the same, they can be used for the trophy room.

Como se puede ver, los gráficos son básicos, pero muy buenos para la época, con detalles muy pobres de sombras y calidad de piso, pero mucho mejor que la precuela "Carnivores".

Podemos ver en el mapa el punto ROJO que es en donde nos encontramos, y los puntos verdes son los Dinosaurios que hemos seleccionado.

Tenemos unos binoculares especiales donde además de aumentar la visión, podemos ver características de Peso y Distancia. Aunque para el juego es indiferente, los puntos son los mismos, pueden servir para la sala de trofeo.

Within the Menu shown above we can see above the Weapons the option of Tranquilizer that we can select or not. If we select it, the dinosaur "falls asleep", which gives us 25% more points. But if we deselect it, we kill it, it is taken by a spaceship and we take it to our trophy room.

In this section we can see all those that we decided to bring to our memory. There are many users who remove 2 of each species, one being very small and one being very large. I have done it before but in this user I dedicated myself to making one of each one just to show you.

Dentro del Menú mostrado anteriormente podemos ver arriba de las Armas la opción de Tranquilizador que la podemos seleccionar o no. Si la seleccionamos, el dinosaurio se "duerme", lo cual nos da un 25% mas de puntos. Pero si lo deseleccionamos, lo matamos, se lo lleva una nave espacial y lo llevamos a nuestra sala de trofeos.

En esta sección podemos ver todos aquellos que decidimos traerlos a nuestro recuerdo. Hay muchos usuarios que eliminan a 2 de cada especie, siendo uno muy pequeño y otro muy grande. Yo lo he hecho anteriormente pero en este usuario me dediqué a hacer uno de cada uno solamente para mostrarles a ustedes.

One of the most important characteristics to know is that they have a very great ability to smell you, see you and hear you from very long distances, so once it goes towards you, it is very fast, and the only way to kill it is: A SHOT IN THE EYES. Very difficult for how fast it moves. And of course, the noise of your footsteps is a very important factor when it comes to aiming.

Y lo más esperado, el momento en que intenté eliminar el T-Rex para este post.
Una de las características más importantes de saber es que tienen una capacidad muy grande de olerte, verte y escucharte de distancias muy largas, por lo que una vez que va hacia tí, es muy rápido, y la única forma de matarlo es : UN TIRO EN LOS OJOS. Muy dificil para lo rápido que se mueve. Y por supuesto, el ruido de sus pasos es un factor muy imporatante a la hora de apuntar.

Several attempts to kill him, but in many cases I missed his eyes and managed to reach me, dying and restarting the game. Sometimes they even came in pairs to hunt me. For this I use the Rifle or the Double Gunshot, which are powerful weapons and with a fast cadence for many attempts.

Varios intentos de matarlo, pero en muchos casos no le atinaba a los ojos y lograba alcanzarme, muriendo y reiniciando el juego. A veces hasta venían de a 2 a cazarme.. Para ello uso el Rifle o el Double Gunshot que son armas potentes y con una cadencia rápida para muchos intentos.

After several maps, I have killed up to 4 of them, all on the ground, without many obstacles so that they do not move much. It is true that it is very difficult, but practice, and dying thousands of times, makes it easier to aim at his eyes without getting nervous in the attempt hehe. Of course, it is the Dinosaur that costs the most to eliminate and at the same time it is the one that gives you the most reward points, although after achieving it, there is not much left in the game, it becomes repetitive and I stop playing for a while, until I feel like it again and I try again. The adrenaline never ends!

Luego de varios mapas, he matado hasta 4 de ellos, todos en tierra, sin muchos obstáculos para que no se mueva mucho. Es cierto que es muy dificil, pero la práctica, y morir miles de veces, hace que sea más fácil apuntarle a los ojos sin ponerse nervioso en el intento jeje. Por supuesto que es el Dinosaurio que mas cuesta eliminar y a la vez es el que más puntos de recompensa te da, aunque luego de conseguirlo, no queda mucho juego, se vuelve repetitivo y dejo de jugar por un tiempo, hasta que me vuelven las ganas y vuelvo a intentarlo. La adrenalina nunca termina!

After killing the T-Rex, I entered the Trophy Room, and found a Monster! It must be one of the biggest T-Rex I've hunted in my history, the difference with the other T-Rex is abysmal! Imagine an animal 16 meters tall that weighs 14 tons. It's literally a monster!

Luego de haber matado al T-Rex, ingresé a la Sala de Trofeos, y me encontré con un Monstruo! Debe ser uno de los T-Rex más grandes que he cazado en mi historia, la diferencia con el otro T-Rex es abismal! Imagínense un animal de 16mts de altura que pese 14 toneladas. Es literalmente un monstruo!

The game is very good, it has everything to entertain you for hours. In my case, my childhood did not support this game, I was afraid and could not play it, I only hunted herbivores because they ran away from me. After I was more adolescent I was able to cheer up and start with easy Carnivores like Allosaurus, Spinosaurus, which although they were fast, were easy to kill with 2 or 3 shots.
Then I started trying with T-Rex, going into the water because he couldn't kill you there, and I was sweating A LOT playing... Until after several years, I was able to complete the game in normal mode, without going into the water or sweating (a lot haha).

El juego es muy bueno, tiene de todo para entretener por horas. En mi caso, mi infancia no soportó este juego, tenía miedo y no lo podía jugar, solamente cazaba herbívoros porque huían de mí. Luego de más adolescente pude animarme y empezar con Carnívoros fáciles como Allosaurus, Spinosaurus, que si bien eran rápidos, eran fáciles de matar con 2 o 3 tiros.
Luego comencé a intentar con T-Rex, yendo al agua por que allí no podía matarte, y sudaba MUCHÍSIMO jugando.. Hasta que luego de varios años, pude completar el juego en modo normal, sin ir al agua ni sudar (mucho jaja).

I highly recommend this game, it has its limitations, although I saw on YouTube some players who set goals, such as eliminating all the dinosaurs on the map without dying, or they have MODs to improve the game experience. I really like to see other players how they play these kind of games, anything related to Dinosaurs is always welcome!

Recomiendo mucho este juego, tiene su limitación aunque vi por YouTube algunos jugadores que se ponen objetivos, como por ejemplo eliminar a todos los dinosaurios del mapa sin morir, o tienen MODs para mejorar la experiencia del juego. Me gusta mucho ver otros jugadores cómo juegan este tipo de juegos, todo lo relacionado con Dinosaurios siempre es bienvenido!
