In this week's theme, we see a flashback into the '90s—a beautiful era when soulful songs echoed in the hearts of many, mine included. We can't deny the fact that songs sung in the '90s are extremely different. They're like a remedy to our souls, penetrating its deepest chambers.

Well, as we all know, this week has a theme: "songs released in the '90s"—unlike last week, where we were given the opportunity to sing songs that did matter to us, songs that we could relate with on a much more personal level, and that's great. But this week even seems better, as we'll be seeing artists pull us into their world. Music in this era wasn't typically about the voice but the emotions they conveyed—something we see lacking in modern-day releases.
I've been seeing lots of entries, and it's just the start because there's a whole lot more to come, as the week's just starting.
About two artists really embodied this week's theme to the best of their ability. I mean, the essence of having a theme is to understand the base upon which such a theme revolves around, and for me, that base is "emotions." What's the essence of singing a Bob Marley, Mariah Carey, or even Whitney Houston song without opening your heart up so we can get indulged, see right through you, feel what you feel, and come to terms with a common understanding?
The artist @ellacentric gave me a moment worthy of my time. Post here

Now, the vocals here are top-notch. I loved the runs—she made it look effortless, but trust me when I say it's somewhat tough maintaining good vocals while singing a song as hard as that. She did a good one on this, bravo!
Of course, she did justice to the theme by letting us into her heart despite the runs and technicality of the song. It shows just how much she would handle a much simpler song.
I was impressed because if it were me, I would have railed off at some point. It's definitely not easy to maintain such vocals with this song.
She wasn't the only one who fit into the perfect description for this week's theme. I mean, we have an artist by the name @moses08. Here's his entry.
I can't deny the fact that he got the vocals. That bass? Wow! It reminds me of artists like John Legend, Aloe Blacc, and so many more.
Well, just like I said—good vocals, beautiful runs, nice background with glimmering lights.
I loved the coordination and how he transitioned into much higher notes without a break in his voice. I only noticed a slight break in the middle of the song, but aside from that, it felt seamless and soothing. My ears were pleased.
From the beginning, I was pulled into my screen like a magnet. He was just what I needed to hear. Quite amazing!
We're seeing the Vibes community scale way up there, across countries, and this contest is just the perfect thing everyone out there is looking for. I mean, if we can watch American Idol for hours on a stretch, why can't we do the same here? Especially given the fact that some of these artists—we know them, speak with them, or even engage in online conversation.
There's a sense of belonging here, and this is what the Vibes weekly competition is all about...
Unity in diversity!
