Music and the Power of Second Languages: A Unifying Theme

(edited)

I know it’s the end of week 33 and we're expecting the next possible theme, which we've prolly seen by now. Some selected few were praying to God to make it to the top 6, but guess what? It's all normal... There's nothing strange about that. And just as we know it the list is already out but regardless, we are all winners!!

Well, just as we know, this week came up with a really exciting theme: "second languages." Just in case you're wondering what that means, it means to sing songs—original or covers—in a language not primarily yours. I'm glad for this unique theme. It merges different people across the world together. It also promotes unity. I recently picked up an interest in South African languages after I heard a cover of Asibe Happy by two artists.

Music is a universal language, and it became even more universal with this theme. It exposes different languages to the world, and Hive is doing a great job in actualising that. Just so great.

This has to be the best prompt since the inception of this community. Bringing people of diverse cultural backgrounds together is an amazing feature. Music has done a whole lot more than we've expected. It's a unifying factor—one many can't see. I'm glad to see a prompt leading us in this direction. Great work from the judges, I must confess.

By the way, congratulations to the winners. You guys rock!!
