In Bengali literature, Nazim Ud Daula's writings focusing on mysteries, thrillers and the unknown side of the human mind have always aroused the curiosity of the reader. His writing "Jabnikah" is a significant addition to that genre. If you are looking for a thriller that will grip you from the first page and will not give you a chance to breathe until the end, then get ready. This review is for you.

At the beginning of the story, a sensational news comes that the country's renowned female entrepreneur Maria Ahmed has died. Maria married a young man 12 years younger than her. She was already in the media discussion due to this unusual marital relationship. But within a year, her mysterious death created a stir across the country. For example, was it a natural death or a cold-blooded murder? The responsibility of investigating this sensitive murder case fell on the shoulders of ASP Mansur Halim, who was recently transferred to Dhaka. The situation becomes even more complicated when he is informed that he has only 24 hours to solve the murder! On the other hand, 16 teenage girls are being held captive in a factory in Savar, who will be smuggled out of the country at nightfall. Will Mansur be able to unravel two different, but equally urgent, mysteries at this inconvenient time? This book seeks to answer that question.
On the one hand, the story has characters facing reality head-on, and on the other hand, the mysterious course of events. The author draws the reader into the story as if the reader is walking the path with the characters themselves. At the end of each chapter, new questions and new tensions do not let the reader rest until the book is finished. While reading the book 'Yabnika', the reader will repeatedly wonder, will Mansur really be able to fight against time and remove the curtain of this mystery at the last moment, or will some questions remain unknown forever?
The biggest attraction of the book, a 24-hour challenge, is its deadline. The author has skillfully spread this 24-hour pressure throughout the story. Mansoor's every decision, every step, everything is driven by the urge to run out of time, which forces the reader to turn the pages quickly. This is a great strategy in thrillers. Although the book moves very fast, there is no compromise on the twists or depth of the plot. The terrifying "anaconda" or larger conspiracy that comes out while investigating the death of Maria Ahmed is truly unexpected. The author has very skillfully tied two different incidents into a common thread. And so readers will definitely enjoy reading the book.
"Jabnika" is not just a mystery novel; it is a window into the inner world of people. If you are a fan of Nazim Ud Daula's writing and want to read a fast-paced, intelligent, time-pressured thriller, then 'Jabnika' (paperback) is a must-have in your collection. It is the ideal book to read in one sitting. And so today I am ending my writing here, thank you all.
