HiveKeychain - I would like to see an upvote trail feature implemented

One feature that I would like to see implemented on the HiveKeychain (without going into technical details if that's feasible or not), is to have an upvote trail feature. I know that there is already such an app https://hive.vote that features this, but it uses Hive Signer to register/login. As I am a 100% HiveKeychain user, I would rather like to have it implemented within instead of going to yet another app (not that it is not good or something). But having a hundred apps for different actions on the Hive blockchain simply makes it harder to manage. Simplicity, feature at our fingertips, more use cases is what established apps on the Hive blockchain should look for and I think this one will help users with curation.

Curation feature ups the activity on the blockchain in a good way

It is not that I am saying not to do manual curation that I am fond off and I am doing with my main account, but I have some alts created in the past with different purposes where I am not as active as I want to be. So instead of letting them dust, I was thinking to breath some life into them and the simplest way to start with that would be to get them on a upvote or curation trail pointing to my main account. Everything helps and having this functionality in HiveKeychain will enable me do that. Is that technically possible? Well, I am not exactly sure on this one as HiveKeychain is a browser extension and not sure how it could trigger such actions. But I don't want to go into deep with it as I am sure there is always a solution to a problem.

Extend HiveKeychain use cases with complementary features

I also think there is a bigger reason why this feature would make sense inside HiveKeychain. Keychain is a tool many Hive users keep close at hand and is actively being developed (has DHF funding as well I believe), so adding useful functionalities like this one could reduce the number of separate services we need to remember and use. HiveVote already demonstrates that curation trails can be useful, including adjustable upvote weight and automatic voting when followed established authors publish. But if something can be offered directly through a tool users already use, why make people jump between platforms? I am not looking for HiveKeychain to become an everything app overnight or anything like that. But still, carefully chosen features that complement wallet and signing functionality could make it much more useful while keeping its core purpose intact.

Give purpose to fogotten accounts

For me, the biggest benefit would be giving forgotten accounts a purpose again. I have several older Hive accounts that are not receiving the attention they once did, and an upvote trail could give them a role in the ecosystem. Instead of manually checking every account or leaving them inactive, I could configure them once and let them spread some support trailing my main account. Naturally, this should come with sensible controls: which account to follow, voting percentage, minimum voting power and the ability to pause the trail when needed. The goal would not be to replace genuine interaction or manual curation. It would simply be another feature, making consistent participation easier while keeping everything simple and accessible from Keychain.

I would love to see HiveKeychain explore this kind of functionalities more closer to the end user while letting him be in control. Maybe it could eventually become a simple “Curation” section, alongside the wallet and signing features, where users can configure trails, voting percentages and pause/resume options. That would turn another useful Hive capability into something available from an app many users already have installed. For me, that is the direction Hive apps should keep moving toward: fewer barriers, more utility and more reasons to actually use the Hive Power we already have. That could ultimately help also with decentralization as smaller accounts could gain bigger power in time.
