As is often the case, my partner and I decided to go for a ride along the Maas. Enjoying the beautiful autumn weather again after a week full of rain. Today wasn't going to be that nice either, but luckily it turned out differently after a small rain shower in the morning. When it cleared up, and even the sun came out, we quickly jumped into the car. Bring your camera, bring Gentle and go...
With my partner at the wheel, and I as a 'photographer' next to him. Now I have to laugh because I'm not a real photographer. But despite that, I really enjoy creating memories with my camera. Saving the moments we experience together. And while I do that, I enjoy the beautiful landscape we drive through, over the dike, along the Maas. The villages in the distance sometimes just seem to have been thrown down at random. They are easy to spot, especially by their church towers, and sometimes that's all you see in the distance. Then you only see fields and the Maas that meanders through them. With the glare of the sun in the water.
And even though we see this much more often, because we just drive around here more often, I continue to enjoy the variety of fields, villages, and then fields with a different piece of Maas each time, which you sometimes see. and sometimes not anymore. Sometimes close and sometimes very far away.
And when we start driving around like this, we've made a habit of making the same stops along the way every time. Our first stop is at the ferry between Lithooijen and Maasbommel. Then we stop at the locks in Lith. And every time the same question is, are there still boats today?? We did see sailing boats along the way, apparently the weather was good for that today. Enjoying the water. Unfortunately we didn't see them at the ferry or at the locks. However, 1 yacht in the lock, and then a very large container ship in the large lock, especially for cargo boats.
When we have seen everything again, it is time to slowly drive back home through the polders. Along the way in the polders you have the typical Dutch landscape. The scattered farms that again seem to have been randomly placed. And of course we also enjoy the meadows with cows, sheep or horses. Unfortunately, you see that less and less. Today we were lucky and we could enjoy it extra. And certainly now that the corn is bruised everywhere again, we have an extra wide view, and the animals can eat again next winter.
On the way home we drive through Heesch, a last village that seems to have been randomly placed, and which is also so small that we drove through it in a flash. That's the last thing we see before we get back to our home town. Oss, a medium-sized city in the Netherlands. With about 58,000 inhabitants and a rich history dating back to about 2000 BC.
Who knows, maybe I'll try to take more pictures of that soon, just in my own hometown. See if I can show some history of Oss. No promises!
I hope you enjoyed 'my Sunday' as much as my partner and I did.
thanks so much for sharing you homeland with us! you don't have to be a professional photographer to share the amazing memories with us!
Thanx, i really do enjoy making the photos, and in my past, i have had a few lessons in photography, but it went wrong in the red room with the development off the phot'o's i've taken with a fellow student. I really got very dizzy, 😂 so unfortunatelly that ends ..... but taking pictures with my litte photocamera, that's something i will never give up, 😊.
Wow what a great place.
Thank you, and it's beautifull in every season!
Very nice place. There's no traffic and there's a lot of beautiful tress and animals.
Thank you for sharing your lovely hometown. 😊

Most of the time it is very low on trafic, but there is some trafic on the dike, motors, cyclists and some cars too, 😂 Animals, yes there are, but we don't see them very often, except the birds, in and around the water of the Maas, beautifull Swans, al kinds of waterbirds, storks etc. Very enjoyable!1
You simply took me on a short virtual tour with you! Would definitely want to see that "Typical Dutch Landscape" someday! Driving around like that with so much greenery is so relaxing!
i'm enyoing it everytime again. So nice that i can take people in our short drives with us through our little land, 😂
Looking forward to see other views there! 😉

What a lovely day you had. The landscape is so beautiful along the river. There are no such rivers here apart from the Danube, buf it is a natural border. Anyways, watching boats on the river is quite interesting even from professional point of view as I am logistics coordinator.
It is great to be able to create memories with your camera when visiting such nice places.

thanx, and yes it's great that we can do that, we enjoy it both, and our little dog is always happy as she can be with us on this ride's because she get's the nice little walks next to the Maas, in the grass and is hoping to see dog's on the boats so she can bark at them 😆
💖💖💖 Thank you so far for voting my post ....... i'm really amazed and very glad with this 💕💕💕
It's still looking so green! When I'm walking around here, I really see the autumn colours starting to appear, but there it's all looking so green! And yeah, DE MAAS ... that's something I miss here in my little corner of this country. No water nearby!
at this moment the beautifull colours of the fall starting to appear, and i enjoy it, 😊😊, hahaha, but the open fields are also beutifull, as the sun is shining on them and the trees in de back and front ......
Yeah, as long as the sun is shining it does look great, and beautiful. But once is rain starts to fall, the temperature drops a lot and the leafs fall all off of the trees ... it's no longer so beautiful. But yeah, autumn days like we have now are very much enjoyable.
