It's heartbreaking, @thebighigg!. Wildfires have caused such devastating loss and disruption— it’s unimaginable for those affected. Even the aftermath, with the toxic debris, makes it hard for communities to rebuild. The air quality issues you’re facing in Orange County just add to the challenge. No wonder you’re contemplating moving to a less risky, more affordable state. Florida could be a great choice, especially since you’ve lived there before and loved it. It tends to offer a different lifestyle compared to SoCal, with its own unique perks and challenges.

The situation is rough north of LA. I love California and there's so many great things here, but estate wise it might be better for my son not to have to deal with it in CA. Plus state tax really sucks, I have been looking at properties in Florida in the panhandle. When I was much younger the Miami scene was fun, but being over the age of 40 not so much!

I get what you mean, @thebighigg. California has so much to offer, but estate stuff and taxes can seriously make things complicated. Florida’s panhandle sounds like a solid choice; it’s a whole different scene from Miami and could be a nice change of pace. I bet there’s a lot to love there. Are you looking at any specific towns or areas?
