During childhood, we all dream of what we want to do or become in future. Happily it already a dream come true for some people and other way round for some people due to some factors.
I still remember my childhood dream far too well. As a kid i used to dream of becoming an aeronautical engineer in the future and sometimes i will close my eyes and imagine how it’d feel to live the dream in the future.
When i was in SS1, i started making findings to know which of the schools in Nigeria offer aeronautical engineering as a course.
After lots of research, i was able to find out that the only school that offer that kind of course in Nigeria is the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, which is really expensive so i had to give up.
Giving up on this dream was a tough one for me, so i picked up another dream which was becoming a mechanical engineer in the future.
After secondary school, i was offered admission into tertiary institution to study mechanical engineering but i had to pick between losing the admission or change course as my O’level result is not up to the course requirement. So i changed course instead, no one wants to sit back an extra year at home in this Nigeria when we all know how difficult it is to gain admission into higher institution.
Anyway, i graduated with Human Kinetics and Health Education.
However, i may never have become an aeronautical engineer or mechanic engineer since there a lot of factors attached to it, but surely i loved the new profession that i never dreamt of becoming during my childhood.
A veces debemos tomar otros rumbos muy diferentes a los que nos proponemos, y no por eso quiere decir que no podamos hacer carrera en ésa área.
Saludos.
