Every morning, a different image appears on my neighbour's balcony. Today it was a brown table piano with a beautiful touch of red. Yesterday it was a typewriter, and the previous day an old bicycle. As the day went by I became fascinated by the mysterious images that materialize out of thin air. I had assumed my neighbour had knowledge of it, but she had looked puzzled at the question and I had to shake it off.
The next morning the table piano was gone and replaced by a beautiful flower vase. It was filled with beautiful red roses. Every day I woke up to a new object and gradually I long for the next morning wondering what I'd see. Gradually my curiosity grew into a strong desire to know what was behind the mysterious images, so I decided to take a closer look one morning.
I snuck into Jethro's balcony , that was when I saw it, a small wooden box with inscriptions on it that seemed to be written in Hindu. As I opened it, a misty air puffed out, feeling my nostrils with a fresh scent of old memories and books of history that are long forgotten. I found a note inside, on it was written "For my curious neighbour, a gift. Each object on the balcony is a piece of my past, a memory I've treasured for years. I hope you enjoyed the journey "- Mr. Williams.
I felt a lump form in my throat as I read the note. Mr. William was my neighbour for a few years before he passed away. With this note, I realized Mr William has been sharing his story with me, one at a time, one object at a time. We were only getting acquainted when the sudden illness took him away. I closed the box and returned it to its hiding place. But from that day onward, I looked at the object on Mr. Jethro's balcony with new eyes, feeling privileged to see from the thread in the tapestry of his life.
