Technology And Its Impact On Social Life

Socialization is an act of interaction with others, learning their culture or lifestyle and how to live with it. Not everyone is social and this is influenced by the environment one grew up in. Even though I grew up in an environment where there were a lot of children in my age bracket, I found it hard socializing when I became an adult. This was different with most of my friends who found it easy to socialize and even though I tried so hard to join the club, the activities were quite the opposite of fun. My room was a more comfortable place.

The introduction of technology changed it all. It was easier communicating online than I do offline, maybe because it gave me time to think and gradually I started making connections online. This connection extended from online to offline and over the years there has been a tremendous change. I have also seem a few persons that technology impacted in the area of socializing, it starts with a conversation with a stranger and soon they become friends and this had helped interactions become easy helping introvert overcome fear, shyness, and timidity and has also made it easy to reach people easily across the globe.

In my opinion, technology has helped improve socialization. Interaction has been made easy and through the Internet a lot of people have shared tips to help people who are less social to become social. Through social media, avenues have been created to make new friends. Yes, technology made me social.
