Let's go for another post from the Battle Mage Secrets event, this time the rule chosen is Lost Legendaries, this is a very common and easy rule to play, but today I chose a game that I won by luck 😂, it was a silver league game in the modern format, let's go to the post.

LOST LEGENDARIES | Legendary monsters may not be used in battles. |
Yes, another rule that limits your choice of units, the difference is that you won't be allowed to play with the most expensive cards in the game, that is, the legendaries are out 🤣, making life a little easier for beginner players, in this rule the most powerful units will be the epics, and usually they shine in these matches, especially those from the Gladiators set, like Quora Towershead and Edith Emberstar, these do a lot of damage in the early leagues.
My main play in this rule is to take advantage of the power of the epic units from the Gladiators set, together with the summoner that allows them to be played, but this strategy is only a good option in the early leagues due to the difficulty of having them at high lvls. After choosing these units, I build a line-up around them, covering their weak points with buffs and debuffs.
Since it's a rule that doesn't change the basis of the game, all skills can be useful depending on your strategy, I just avoid using Scattershot I hate it (except in the Explosive Weaponry rule 🤣).
Card | LineUP |
---|---|
Summoner : This summoner together with the Quora Towershead is almost an army, I've won several matches with just the two of them practically, plus there's a debuff to slow the opponent down a bit. | |
Tank : I put her in the first position to attack melee as well, I know she wouldn't last long here if she took all the damage from the opposing team, as would be facing heavy units on the other side. | |
Off-Tank: My most dubious choice, its focus is to reduce possible melee damage, helping the survival of both Quora and Slipspawn, and to hold back the front line if necessary. | |
Suport: Good magic damage and can heal Quora, in addition to being able to cut the opponent's tank's healing. | |
DPS : This is an interesting unit for heavy matches like this one, its attack deals an incredible 6 damage and if the unit costs 10+ mana something that will surely appear here will deal twice as much damage. | |
Suport: A new unit that I'm testing in the penultimate position, I'm getting good results combining it with units with the taunt ability in the last position and one on the opposite side with much less HP to attract attacks of opportunity. | |
Suport: An excellent unit for splitting the explosive damage at the start of the round in matches with an abundance of mana, as it has taunt and force shield, reducing the big damage to a measly 1. Unfortunately, I won't have the triage ability in this line-up. |
Analyzing the match: My opponent thought of the same move as me to use the Quora, the difference is that his is as an off tank and mine is on the front line, we'll have a 1x1 between Quora and Grunt at least until one of the Slipspawn dies, my Disintegrator and Ujurak Mystic will be almost useless in this match, but my Suidae Shama will have 2 targets with 10 + mana for that super damage of 12 😂, the Goblin can cancel the Quora's healing when the Slipspawn dies.
Round 1 - A very hectic round with damage exchanged at all edges of the table, but no elimination, my opponent ending up with the advantage because my Slipspawn took more hits 🤣.
Round 2 - In the first few moves of the round, Suidae Shaman knocked the opponent's Slipspawn out of the game with its charged damage, halfway through the round it was my Slipspawn's turn to be knocked out, the round went on without any more eliminations, but my Goblin managed to nullify the healing on the Grund.
Round 3 -My Quora almost eliminated Grund leaving him with just 1 HP, almost in the end my Goblin takes him out of the game, but my Quora can't heal anymore either.
Round 4 - The opposing Quora is almost at full health and still manages to score a kill on my Quora 😅, but then Suidae Shaman shines and deals an incredible 12 damage, taking this powerful threat out of the game and leaving me with a good advantage.
Round 5 - My Goblin knocks out another opposing unit, victory is getting closer and closer.
Round 6 - Right at the beginning Suidae again knocks out another unit, practically guaranteeing me victory in the next turns.
Round 7 and 8 - With only one unit with 4 health, it was impossible to win due to my magical damage that never misses, Thane Newsong before falling due to Suidae's damage knocked out the Disintegrator.
My strategy didn't work well, everything I tried to predict like sneak and opportunity attacks were in vain, apart from the Disintegrator who had almost no target for its debuff, the move to split the damage was interesting and gave my tank a few more turns, Quora is a killing and healing machine, it lasted a long time on the front line, my Goblin had a good game, healed, cut healing and even took down two units, but the highlight of the game was Suidae Shaman, it really plays well in games with a lot of mana, the 12 damage right after the opposing Quora started scoring points for its Bloodlust ability was my victory.
As I said before, epic cards shine a lot in this rule, Quora is a great example of this, at lvl 3 she gains the Immunity skill making her immune to the best ways to kill her like Affiliciton and Poison, otherwise try to modify your strategy with other cards, after all there are always less effective versions of legendary cards among the common, rare and epic ones 😁.
