Social Media Challenge - Facing Nidhogg, Rage and Fizbo All Together

Prelude
Good day to all, hope that you are doing well and battling often in Splinterlands. It is time again for another battle sharing. In today's post, I will be sharing on a crazy match that I encountered this week. This is the first time I ever met such a crazy lineup being fielded by my opponent all at one go. Almost every card that is fielded is out to kill. My jaw literally dropped when I saw all of them appearing at once.

While each of them by themselves are crazy enough, to face all of them all at one go is no easy feat.

First crazy card - Nidhogg

While fielding this card will reduce the total number of card that my opponent can deploy, by base it reduces armour and health of my cards by 1. Then comes the tactics abilities, either deathblow + blast to 3 card of the lineup or +2 speed and execute to 3 cards. Whatever my opponent will chose, both equally bad for me. This is one mean summoner to face, but this is not just the only headache we face.

Second crazy card - Rage

Another crazy card that has so much stats within it. If this card is on a level 2, it can even pass on to 2 adjacent no attack cards its magic attack. Total madness, can effectively zap off one of the smaller health cards with one blow. And imagine when Nidhogg gives it blast, this will be crazier to face.

Third crazy card - Fizbo The Fabulous

While it is not as crazy as the earlier, if this card is levelled up, it even gives adjacent card reflection shield yet by itself gives healing and can be used by 2 splinter which is really good especially for fire.

Now that we know about what we will be facing. We will have to see how we will be able to overcome my opponent.

So let's dive right into the match and look at how the match went.

Selection Analysis
While it was a standard ruleset as I thought it would be I put up what I typically what I will field whenever I have a mana of 40-50 to work with.

In my selection, it will be the standard double martyr setup that I like to go with where it will allow my Oshannus to become double boosted and make it hard to get hit. Lineup started with Venari Marksrat at pole position at the front to get itself killed and then subsequently revived and get killed again. So right next in the lineup will be Oshannus whom will get double boosted to become a hard to hit card with both high speed to dodge and a boosted phase for magic dodging. Next will be Nerissa whom is one big hitter that always lands big damage on opponent. After Nerissa comes River Hellondale, the key piece to doing double martyr. Next will be Kulu Mastermind whom is a strong 4 damage card that hits real hard from the back with its opportunity. And finally to wrap up the lineup, it will be Swamp Spitter that hits hard and also gives repair of armour.

Now onto what my opponent fielded, the summoner is Nidhogg and Halfling Refugee to take the front followed by Rage to take 2nd position. This 2 should be able to sustain quite a while for my opponent. The next inline will be Kei which is a known problem card to handle with reach and enfeeble. Next card in the lineup is Sorriel The Bale which is going to give us a hard time with the double strike. Last on the lineup is Fizbo whom is here to do healing for our opponent front line.

This is one crazy lineup to face compared to what I had prepared. Will there be any chance for me to capture a win? Let's battle!

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - I was guessing that opponent will pick the blast and deathblow combination for the tactics whom was given to Rage, Sorriel and Kei. My game plan was going on smooth with the double martyr firing up and able to let Oshannus being boosted whom was able to dodge loads of attacks from Sorriel while my lineup managed to totally get rid of Halfling Refugee.

Round 2 - While this had been a round of no casualties, it did showcase how important Oshannus is to the lineup. While there were damage being dealt to it, it also significantly dodged off Sorriel, Fizbos and Kei to allow the team to sustain longer.

Round 3 - Small breakthrough this turn Kulu Mastermind spotting an exposed Fizbos and landing a big 4 damage hit on it. Oshannus again showcase its prowess in dodging as it did not get hurt in this turn as we sustained through another round while we manage to shave down opponent's healing system.

Round 4 - We strike early and took out Rage and also Kei but we were unable to handle continued barrage from opponent as Oshannus finally fell after doing such an amazing job to fend off all the magic damage with the blast that it comes with. Now we just need to take care of the final Sorriel on opponent's lineup.

Round 5 - The rounded started with Kulu Mastermind landing a big hit following by Swamp Spitter to dispose off Sorriel and allowed me to bring home the win against such a crazy lineup.

Battle Summary
While my lineup looked very similar that I typically field, the key to this match was how Oshannus was able dodge all kind of melee and magic damage and successfully fend off any form of blast that it accompanied and allow the lineup the strike back and overcome such a strong opponent lineup. Oshannus is such an amazing card and I really wonder how I can fight the new modern without it in the near future.

Wrap Up
Was really glad to be able to pull such a performance against my opponent whom had so much in store for me. While I managed to overcome them, these cards are really strong and I should be looking at possibly obtaining copies of them to strengthen my collection as I slowly get ready for the new modern gameplay when Chaos Legion is phased out.
