Prelude
Good day to all, hope that all of you are having a good week so far and having many memorable battles in Splinterlands. Today would like to share on a match that from the looks off it, it would be a walk in the park for my opponent but instead, I manage to seal a victory against this formidable lineup.
So let's see how the match turn out.

Ruleset: Just.1 single ruleset, Armoured Up
Mana Limit: 49
Selection Analysis
We have 5 splinters available for selection - Fire, Earth Water, Life, Death and Dragon. With so many mana and just a simple ruleset, selection wise for splinter and cards will not be as tough when we are stuck not many cards to choose from. And on such a ruleset, almost equal strength for each splinter.
So here is my selection of the lineup. I've chosen to go with Kavor Skarn from Drakoshan Bloodline and also a Dragon Splinter. This means I can use a base splinter and have access to dragon cards in my collection. The base splinter I went for is Death Splinter. Reason for doing so is that I would like some healing from Arachne Weaver which can heal up my whole lineup. Leading the front is Night Reaper which is designed with a high health and high magic attack and also able to deal more damage to flying cards. Next will be Thraghun which has a dual attack type and reach. If Night Reaper is not killed, Thraghun can do 2 attacks at 2nd position. The third card in the lineup is Helheim Demon which is very important as this is the card that help keep other cards away from damages with its taunt. Following will be Arachne Weaver that gives corrupted healing and heal everyone though reducing the max health by 1 whenever it heals. The final 2 cards are magic attack bruisers in the form of Fenmoor Gorgon and Shadowfey Sheik.
On my opponent end, my opponent used Brewmaster Abraxas which allowed the use of both earth and fire splinter cards. Tank selection is a Chaos Golem with huge amount of stats and has return fire (not good for Thraghun). On the 2nd position is Pallus which strikes hard with 3 melee attack. Following is another 3 attack card, Lord Thanalor that strikes with magic attacks. Next will be Gobson Sniper and Rush Townsend which has affliction and also ambush, a super scary card which makes it hard for me if affliction lands and my card will not be able to be healed. Final card is Inept Healer which carries magic reflect.
Looking at what I field versus what my opponent fielded, stakes are stacked totally against me considering that there are cards that will counter some of my cards and base stats of my opponents cards will hit me real hard in terms of sheer damage. Let's get right on to the synopsis to see how I manage to overturn the odds.
Round by Round Synopsis
Round 1 - This is such a bad start, right from the start my Helheim Demon gets affliction and it is going to be tough with it not being able to heal. While there were no casualties, things looks bad for my side.
Round 2 - Affliction landed on Night Reaper but good thing is that we manage to clear off 2 cards on my opponent while only Helheim Demon fell on my end. Night Reaper is super low on health and unlikely to last more than another round.
Round 3 - Night Reaper fell and immediately Thraghun also ended up with affliction. Otherwise a low activity round with Lord Thanalor on opponent end also looking like it will fall next turn.
Round 4, Race is on as 2 cards from my end fell this round and I am down to my last 2 cards with key cards on my end no longer on the field especially Arachne Weaver. I have 2 range cards to overcome and need to finally survive long enough without getting killed.
Round 5 and beyond, The match lasted till round 14 but the gist of it is that Shadowfey Sheik with the Life Leech, manage to outlast everyone as it gains health with each attack and had enough to absorb the magic reflect.
Battle Summary
Indeed the lineup strength is really different with a very strong one fielded by my opponent. The crazy thing is on the affliction which really make it hard for me. So instead of normal healing, Life Leech become the way to overcome the affliction and win me the match.

That was quite close, maybe your opponent had too much ranged and not enough magic
