PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 9 Dec 2024
Greetings to all, the recent Brawl had just completed a few hours ago, fresh from the oven and it's time to look at how PIZZA 2 did for the brawl on all aspects such as a guild, individually how each of the match went for me and the thoughts behind how I do up my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. As we are still in the stage of reviewing, the new frays are not yet ready. The guild currently needs more people to join us so that we can fill up the frays as much as we could so that we are in a better position for the brawl, the last brawl we had, only a small number of players joined. If we have more frays being filled, it would give us higher win chances when other guilds don't fully fill it and climb up our brawl rankings.
Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is very beneficial for me because now that I only play in modern for my daily battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this modern fray, I will get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. We have just completed an end of season and I've started to get cards hopefully I can have more flexibility in card selection for the next brawl. Let's get right on to the battles of the brawl that just went over.

| Selection: | Healed out, blood and sunder, taking sides. Super low mana match which makes selection even tougher. I can only hope choosing Oshannus to anchor will do me good and sustain throughout since anything too small might be easily killed, so gamble on 1 Oshannus might do me good. |
| Outcome: | Lose. Bad start to the brawl where I tasted defeat right at the first match. While I thought healed out ruleset will prevent players from selecting cards with healing such as Quora and with the low mana of 13, I wasn't expecting to see Quora. But there she was, growing out of hand and taking me out. However, one thing to note was to probably move hardy stonefish to the back instead. Outcome might have been a little different. |

| Selection: | Melee Mayhem, Equalizer and Fog of War. Mana wise not alot to manoeuvre with only 21 to fill. With such a tight one, I decided to pull off some bigger attacks and also ensure I can continue add pressure with other low mana cards which will benefit from the Equalizer where they maximize the health balancing. I tried some magic play though it is a melee match as magic is an attack type that ignores armour. |
| Outcome: | Win! Main damage dealer that added pressure was the Exploding Rats with their blast attack. Also to note was the inclusion of Fiend also added extra attack power to my lineup so as to not let Cursed Windeku stay on board for too long. Everything went out as plan and a nice victory obtained. |

| Selection: | Equalizer and Super Sneak. This is something that I will like to play and because of sneak, I just planned out what I have and activate big attackers with Grund, Quora and Katrelba both included in attempt to wean down opponent fast. Another thing that I planned is Terraceous Hulk to taunt other cards to attack it so that my big hitters get their free play to attack as long as they can. |
| Outcome: | Win! With 3 cards that are planned that have some form of double attack and also to plant in a melee taunt. Everything worked out well as we added alot of pressure on opponent because clearing their cards one by one and secure the win. A nice match won against another well thought strategy from my opponent. |
Guild Final Tally
I am assigned 3 matches this brawl and managed to win 2 out of 3 of the matches (including 0 fleeing opponent). Additional 6 wins from unfilled brawl by other guilds. I like that my opponent dare to use a double splinter summoner and force in a Quora which did well and outdo me. Something for me to think about as I can probably consider using this when mana is tight for a proper lineup.
Dang, we missed sustaining on the podium by 4 wins and ended up finishing on 4th place. Not too bad a result, but something for us to take back to bring in a few more regular and active player to fill 1-2 more frays and we will be good to be able to push back to podium. Let us continue to push hard and better our game while also push for more recruitment. Go PIZZA 2!
Closing
We missed the podium by a little but definitely will do better if we had more active players in the guild. If you have a shiny collection and able to commit to the brawls 2 times per week, we ask for you to join us and win brawls together as a guild, gold frays tend to have more free wins and please consider joining us if you can be regular. We are getting better in our participation already and getting better brawl rewards. Do check us out in the PIZZA discord and check with the guild officers to gain entry to the guild.
