PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 6 Dec 2024
Greetings to all, the recent Brawl had just completed slightly a day ago and it's time to look at how PIZZA 2 did for the brawl as a guild, individually how each of the match went for me and the thoughts behind how I do up my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. Apologies, haven't been sharing timely for brawl report but it is still important part of my Splinterlands strategy and review, so I will still make time for it. Also with the new brawl frays opening up, time to pick the fray for the next. The guild currently needs more people to join us so that we can fill up the frays as much as we could so that we are in a better position for the brawl. With more frays being filled, it would give us higher win chances when other guilds don't fully fill it and climb up our brawl rankings.
Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is very beneficial for me because now that I only play in modern for my daily battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this modern fray, I will get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. We have just completed an end of season and I've started to get cards hopefully I can have more flexibility in card selection for the next brawl. Let's get right on to the battles of the brawl that just went over.

| Selection: | Weak Magic, Need for Speed and Aim True. Somehow everytime there is a need for speed ruleset, it makes it a little hard for me to get a good lineup because my collection becomes limited. But somehow I do have enough to assemble. Because weak magic is valid, it is good for Commander Slade whom have loads of armour. Oshannus is like a staple where it deliver constant damage while supported by Isgald and Halfling Refugee as back tank |
| Outcome: | Win! Commander Slade again showing why he is such a good card as he enfeebles anything in sight while my cards slowly chew my opponent cards away. |

| Selection: | Reverse Speed, Shades of Grey, Stampede. Stampede is a ruleset hard to fulfil unless we have Possibilus to fully utilize it. For this reverse speed, I like using Moxian Rebel to weapon train my cards and allow them to chew away my opponent's card while using some form of repair to keep my cards alive. |
| Outcome: | Win! To be honest, Moxian Rebel is really an amazing card that changes the gameplay by a lot and brings new dimension to lineup. And because it is neutral, it can effectively create 2 more magic attackers out of the blue which is really dangerous. Boosted by Obsidian, both get additional magic damage which is really worth it. |

| Selection: | No ruleset. With this, it will just mean that I can just do with my best lineup to ensure victory. I picked my double martyr combo for this match with Alfredo taking up one spot from Gladius. |
| Outcome: | Win! Double martyr rarely fails and also have been a good and reliable strategy that brings me the wins that I need. Opponent had a good attempt with a double colour strategy but not enough to take down my established Oshannus. |

| Selection: | Aim True and Magic Reflect. Seeing such a ruleset, I can't wait to bring up my recent best fire splinter card, Grum Flameblade since it has Blood Lust and the Aim True helps it to land good damage. I also added an array of strong melee attackers with Tusk the Wide to take last spot against any sneakers. |
| Outcome: | Lost. While I lined up something good, I neglected one fact is that opponent put up many regeneration in the form of heal and repair. This blocked alot of my intended attacks and ended up big hits landing on armour instead of direct health, resulting in ineffective clearing of opponent's cards. |
Guild Final Tally
I am assigned 4 matches this brawl and managed to win 3 out of 4 of the matches (including 0 fleeing opponent). Additional 4 wins from unfilled brawl by other guilds. The match that I lost requires me to be more mindful of repair and healing where opponent intent to out last me in the match by recovery.
The guild finally felt the breeze of being back in the podium, a nice improvement from previous. While we manage to gather enough wins, it is still very significant difference to that of the winners as we are only half of their wins. And definitely we will need more people joining us to have a chance at that. Special shout out to @relf87 whom helped to capture the brawl information for me while I was really busy this week at work. Thanks bro!
Closing
A taste of podium once more, but fundamental problem still exist for the guild. If you have a shiny collection and able to commit to the brawls 2 times per week, we ask for you to join us and win brawls together as a guild. We are getting better in our participation already and getting better brawl rewards. Do check us out in the PIZZA discord and check with the guild officers to gain entry to the guild.
