PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 22 Feb 2025
Greetings everyone and hope that all of you are doing fine for the weekend. The latest brawl which my guild PIZZA 2 participated in had ended approximately a day ago and it is time again to look at how our guild did for this brawl on all aspects such as a guild, individually how each of the brawl matches went for me and the thoughts and decisions made behind how I put up each of my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. Somehow I feel that recent matches are tougher than before and big blunders by opponents are now rarely seen and definitely clean sweep become a much more daunting task.
Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion, Riftwatchers and Rebellion Cards. This is very beneficial for me because now that I only play in modern for my daily ranked battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this modern fray, I will be exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I have gotten more cards from the last end of season, hopefully there are opportunities for me to use them. Let's get right on to the battles of the brawl.

| Selection: | Lost Magic, Deflection Field and Born Again. No magic match, hence I used my melee lineup for wafer alongside my latest Gladius acquisition Tatiana Blayde to front this match. I planned for a mixture of brute force attack and support abilities to ensure we are able to push big damage through yet have some form of sustainability. |
| Outcome: | Lose. Opponent had a better plan with the Legendary summoner and associated cards which reduced my armour for opponent's melee cards to bulldoze through me quickly as multiple of my cards were exposed and vulnerable to the attacks. Good one by my opponent. |

| Selection: | Stampede, Beefcakes and What Doesn't Kill You. Because of Beefcakes, many cards might not be able to use for this ruleset. I just went with whatever remain that I can still use. It ended up with a big chunk of melee cards to lay the front, some magic support cards to anchor the middle and Runic Skyclaw to seal the end. |
| Outcome: | Win! While I did saw a Immortalis over at the other end of the battle, my lineup had enough beatdown as we cleared opponent card hard and ensured Quora didn't have opportunity to grow as we just nailed the damage round after round to ensure victory! |

| Selection: | Fog of War and Weak Magic. For this, instead of using my usual double martyr lineup, I actually made a switch to using a little more range cards that can hit hard while having Commander Slade at the front to dodge off as much attack at it could. |
| Outcome: | Win! With Commander Slade and Oshannus hold the fort from the front and all the bombardment cards I have after Nerissa, it is too much for my opponent to handle even when they had a big number of powerhouse at the front. NIce win. |

| Selection: | Stampede, Holy Protection and Rise of Commons. A match that I had dilemma choosing between fire and earth which ended up me choose earth once again due to double strike and also an array of backline support with taunt and heal. |
| Outcome: | Win! The team had just enough to land a victory with the taunt to divert damage and the frontline to deal substantial damage that my opponent cannot handle and Katrelba just couldn't stop growing. |

| Selection: | Keeping Your Distance, Little League and Blood & Sunder. For this I plan to use Moxian Rebel to give 2 cards attacks while using their abilities to sustain the lineup sufficiently. The key I wanted to perform will be Helmet Kharafax which will gather void and also blood lust. In little league this will be a crazy card to own it if opponent focus on magic. A good lineup of support cards follow through to the end with heal, triage and dispel. |
| Outcome: | Win! The Helmet was all we need as we just power through my opponent as this solitary card which just keep growing is too tough to be handled. One of the most fun card in Little League. |
Guild Final Tally
I was assigned 6 matches for this brawl and 5 out of 6 of them. 1 fleeing opponent and an additional 1 wins due to unfilled frays from opponent guild. While I did not manage to gather a clean sweep. It was quite a good match as I managed to get what I needed and power through most opponent. The match that I lost, some self reflection needed and some bulking up of collection is needed as well.
After a strong performance that saw us pushing into the podium, we slipped big time and ended up at position 6.. In this brawl the guild only able to gather 36 win which is much lower than usual. Participation is still key to get good results, so let's continue to work on that. Hopefully we can have other members within guild to play or recruit more from external to join our guild. Go PIZZA 2!
