PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 17 Nov 2024
Greetings to all, the recent Brawl had just completed a few hours ago and it's time to look at how PIZZA 2 did for the brawl as a guild, individually how each of the match went for me and the thoughts behind how I do up my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. The guild still needs more people to join in so that we can fill up the frays accordingly in order for us to be in a better position for the brawl as the more frays filled means higher win chances when other guilds don't fully fill it.
Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is good for me because now that I play in modern for my daily battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this particular fray, I will get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I've been battling and trying to accumulate Glint so that I can more Rebellion Soul Bound cards into my collection which should come in handy for the matches. Let's get right on to the battles.

| Selection: | Aim True, Briar Patch and Counterspell. With the 2 attack types going to receive damage returns, I had to use range for my whole lineup and I also used Quix to further reduce range damage. |
| Outcome: | Lose. I was totally surprised as I didn't expect to be facing Grandmaster Rathe. With that in place, opponent had additional armour to absorb the magic returns from their attack which is more effective that what I had put up. Totally defeated because opponent had a better plan. |

| Selection: | Back to Basics, Four's a crowd and Target Practice. While there is no healing and blood lust for Quora, I still started her because of the double attack, the rest fielded are to ensure I have enough padding at the back. |
| Outcome: | Win! No abilities no problem, Quora did well still, clearing down my opponent lineup one by one, securing the win for my side. |

| Selection: | Scattershot, Are You Not Entertained and Rise of Commons. For this, cannot use Quora, so I use Katrelba and Bertrol together with some protection from Arkemis The Bear and additional strong melee cards and also prepared a Venari Spellsmith in case any Blood Lust from opponent goes out of scale. |
| Outcome: | Win! Because I used Quix, we struck faster and deadlier as we drew blood first to get my cards growing in Blood Lust. |

| Selection: | Going The Distance, Fog of War and Little League. No choice, so many restrictions, only range and small cards. For me, my collection for death suits this best as I have cards of various abilities to handle this. |
| Outcome: | Win! As predicted I was able to clinch the win with ease due to the many types of cards I have at my disposal. A strong win. |

| Selection: | Just standard, no special ruleset. Between death and dragon, I preferred death as I have more cards and I can use Thaddius to reduce opponent health and magic. |
| Outcome: | Win! It was close as my magic lineup got the better of my opponent while I had a long range 4 damage beast doing strong damage to allow a strong position for the rest to kill. Another good win secured. |

| Selection: | Manoeuvres, Need for Speed and Unprotected. For this I just had one thing in mind, go all out and attack. Grund to lead the charge with many others also in line to shave off anything on opponent lineup quick and also Quora standing by to grow and smash supported by Bertrol. |
| Outcome: | Win! We had enough damage to let fly though it did come really close because of Sathya and also Venari Knifer with that thorns making it much tougher. But stil, a win is a win! |
Guild Final Tally
I am assigned 7 matches this brawl and managed to win 6 out of 7 of the matches (including 1 fleeing opponent). There is also an additional 2 wins due to lack of participation from other guilds. This time, I was truly outsmarted by taunt for 2 times which really makes it difficult for me to gain momentum and losing the fight. Something to learn and ponder upon.
The guild uplifted ourselves and came in at 4th position, a nice improvement from previous. The number of frays filled is relatively low and definitely need some form of improvement through recruitment and sleeping members to come alive once again. But thanks to everyone in the guild for rising to the occasion and securing many wins to bring us to a higher position.
Closing
Not a bad improvement from previous brawl as we headed into 4th position, but definitely we should still actively recruit to ensure higher chances of fray filling. If you have a shiny collection and able to commit to the brawls 2 times per week, we ask for you to join us and win brawls together as a guild. We are getting better in our participation already and getting better brawl rewards. Do check us out in the PIZZA discord and check with the guild officers to gain entry to the guild.
