PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 17 Feb 2025
Greetings everyone and hope that all of you are doing fine. The latest brawl which my guild PIZZA 2 participated in had ended approximately a day before and it is time again to look at how our guild did for this brawl on all aspects such as a guild, individually how each of the brawl matches went for me and the thoughts and decisions made behind how I put up each of my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. I do recognize that as we play, people are getting stronger with bigger collection and cards that are levelled up.
Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion, Riftwatchers and Rebellion Cards. This is very beneficial for me because now that I only play in modern for my daily ranked battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this modern fray, I will be exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I have gotten more cards from the last end of season, hopefully there are opportunities for me to use them. Let's get right on to the battles of the brawl. Today will be a short one due to only 2 active matches played.

| Selection: | Wands Out, Target Practice and Four's a Crowd. To go with this ruleset, I had the intention of having a strong magic tank and used Djinn Muirat to be the tank and then have a smaller card behind that can grow a little bit of health. Goal is to sustain the front and slowly chimp away opponent. |
| Outcome: | Lose. It was wishy thinking on my end that I will be able to win with ease. Opponent had a good plan against me where they used Revealer to constantly stun my Djinn Muirat rendering it a sitting duck before doing the reverse and clearing me out instead of me doing that on them. |

| Selection: | Heavy Metal, Born Again and Four's a crowd. My game plan was rather straightforward. Commander Slade will lead the front and wear out opponent cards while doding their attacks. Isgald Vorst will be to take out any weak cards in opponent lineup and ensure consistent attack presence on my opponent. The final piece will be Swamp Spitter which is there to repair any worn out armour and ensure the lineup is sustained with armour as long as possible. |
| Outcome: | Win! Everything came up to plan with Commander Slade doing a good amount of work while constantly being threatened by River Hellondale's magic attack. Otherwise the repair and backline striking did what they are required to do and I manage to overcome my opponent to clock in a win for this brawl. |
Guild Final Tally
I was assigned 3 matches for this brawl and 2 out of 3 of them. 1 fleeing opponent and an additional 5 wins due to unfilled frays from opponent guild. This is the way things are nowadays as long as you participate, there is opportunity for free wins if there are unfilled frays from other guilds. For the match that I lost, definitely need to relook at my decision making and see how I can do better for future brawls.
A pleasant surprise that we have managed to miraculously climb our way up to rank 3. In this brawl the guild only able to gather 44 which is just 1 more win than previous brawl but due to other participating guilds not clocking enough wins, we manage to squeeze in and obtain a 3rd place. While this is a good result, we know that the total number of wins that my guild can clock hovers around this figure and if there are guilds that have more participation than us in the same brawl, it is likely that we will fall again. Hopefully we can have other members within guild to play or recruit more from external to join our guild. Go PIZZA 2!
