PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 10 Jan 2025
Greetings to all and hope that all of you are doing fine, battling and accumulating glint while there is a bonus amount of glint given this season. The lastest brawl which my guild participated in had just ended and it is time to look at how our guild did for this brawl on all aspects such as a guild, individually how each of the brawl matches went for me and the thoughts and decisions made behind how I put up each of my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets.
Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion, Riftwttchers and Rebellion Cards. This is very beneficial for me because now that I only play in modern for my daily ranked battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this modern fray, I will be exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I have gotten more cards from the last end of season, hopefully there are opportunities for me to use them. Let's get right on to the battles of the brawl.

| Selection: | Ferocity, Reverse Speed and Odd Ones Out. When I saw that it was Life and Death splinter, I actually scratched my head thinking which one to pick so that I have more low speed cards. After checking, death was a better choice. I took Night Ghoul which is really slow to strike fast but prepared an array of support cards to sustain it such as corrupted healing from Arachne Weaver and Scavo Hireling to replenish the armour. To further sustain the whole lineup I also had Spirit Hoarder to triage any wounded cards. |
| Outcome: | Win! While somehow I only realized Night Ghoul had taunt only after pressing the submit button, thankfully I manage to overwhelm my opponent by striking first and the backroom suport for triage and healing all worked well and ensured the survivability of Night Ghoul as I came out of the battle with all units intact. A great win to start the brawl. |

| Selection: | Are You Not Entertained, Might Makes Right. High mana and ruleset that encourages us to use big stats card that have high attack. With that, I just gathered all my big guns to prepare to land a big hit on my opponent. I had a front basher with a reaching hitter as well. I further enhanced defence with Protect and 2 close range cards that can strike from long disnace. |
| Outcome: | Win! I continued the momentum and secure a 2nd win for this brawl. Opponent did not have enough cards to fill and my lineup which is planned with big guns easily bulldoze through for an easy win. |

| Selection: | Up to Eleven, Equalizer and Taking Sides. Because the available mana is huge, it didn't make sense for me to fill the lineup with cards of low health since at that mana, everything by itself will be high stats card. And as such, I planted big guns which can deal big damage to my opponents with ease from big melee, high magic and also incorporate repair to ensure I have enough to outlast my opponent. |
| Outcome: | Win! The match went really close with loads of exchanges until the consistent barrage of big damage especially with magic was too tough for my opponent to handle and subsequently fall to the attacks my lineup delivered. Health alone is not enough, big damage is still very much needed to win this match. |

| Selection: | Reverse Speed and Taking Sides. I was so tempted to put up Quora into the lineup but thinking how she will keep growing and end up losing out the ruleset, I instead fielded Jini Guise and put in all my 1 speed cards I have in my earth lineup with double taunt to ensure I have enough diversion for the 1 speed cards to land good damage. |
| Outcome: | Win! Strategy clicked perfectly with me landing damage earlier than my opponent due to the reverse speed. Glad to have enough cards in my earth splinter collection to pull this off and glad for the beautiful victory. |
Guild Final Tally
I am assigned 4 matches this brawl and managed to win all 4 matches out of the 4 matches (no fleeing opponent for this brawl). Been a while, but I am so glad I clocked another clean sweep for this brawl. Hard to come by but I am glad to have cleared all my opponent and gather another 4 wins from unfilled frays by other guilds.
We've recovered our brawl position and push ourselves nearer towards the podium and landed at 4th position. Considering the amount of people participating and how well our guild members did, I personally think it is a great result. However to really chase the podium, what we really need is for more players to join us and fill up those frays. Fellow members, you guys rock! Go PIZZA 2!
Closing
A nice clean sweep obtained, but the guild really need injection of new players to fill up the empty frays which ends up us giving free wins to other guilds even when their players are not as strong as ours. If you have a shiny collection of cards and able to commit to the brawls 2 times per week, we ask for you to join us and win brawls together as a guild, gold frays tend to have more free wins and please consider joining us if you can be regular. We are getting better in our participation already and getting better brawl rewards. Do check us out in the PIZZA discord and check with the guild officers to gain entry to the guild.
