Community Engagement Challenge: Teach and Triumph - Threading Through Frontier Format

Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's topic on Teach and Triumph. And since we were discussing about Frontier Format last week, so I was thinking why not we continue and discuss more on the how to do better in Frontier Format. I am no expert and I am not like on 100% win rate on Frontier. I am like most of the new players still threading my path out on Frontier Format and trying to get for myself a winning formula to thread me through to obtain my 3 daily rewards.

Threading Through Frontier Format

Clear The Campaign
I really think Frontier Format is something that we can work on, with it giving us additional foundation cards, that be used in both frontier format and our regular ranked battle. How cool is that?

To get things moving in Frontier Format, you will need foundation cards otherwise, you will have no available cards to use in Frontier Format. So be diligent and complete your campaign.

Make sure your campaign is showing this before clicking on any Frontier Format match.

This is important because if you lack any of the foundation cards that can be earned from clearing the chapters, it will make it a little harder to win matches in Frontier Format. So like a broken recorder, I am reminding new players once again, complete every single chapter then start Frontier Format.

Getting Started for Frontier Format

While it is being said that in Frontier Format, only foundation cards can be used and everyone will start the same way. But do not forget, cards do have levels and after the launch of Frontier Format, there is a path for foundation cards to get levelled up.

Winning 15 times each day will allow you to claim 3x rewards which comes in the form of foundation cards. Now something to remind all new players is that no matter how many foundation cards you get, if you cannot level up your foundation Archon, there is no way you will be able to play levelled up cards in your lineup. Card levels of your cards are dictated by the level of your Archon.

To play level 3 common cards, you will need a level 2 Archon and so on for the respective rarity cards such as rares, epics and legendaries. And unfortunately like many of us whom have been trying to grind out some foundation cards from the daily reward claim, Archons are really hard to come by.

I really hope I can get more Archon from the daily reward claim and hope to upgrade my cards soon as well. The grind is real and I will just continue clearing the Frontier Format and try to get more reward claims.

Frontier Mode Is Tough, I Can't Win
With the basic foundation only, how to progress? It is still possible and I will summarize below what are some of the ways to improve your win rate based on the battles I have been through.

Fire Splinter - If able to attack fast and clear off opponent early, can go with this.
Water Splinter - Good when back to basics and the Archon increases every magic attacker magic damage by 1.
Earth Splinter - So far quite good for poison match due to cleanse cards
Life Splinter - Good for earthquake due to extra armour
Death Splinter - Good for most other ruleset

For me, so far it has been between Fire and Death that I commonly put up. So if you are struggling in winning, can consider using these 2 splinters for a start.

And if you think getting the Archon to jumpstart your Frontier Format, you can also do so. Prices of regular foil Archons come at a rate of less than 1 dollar per piece. It is a good way to kick start but I prefer to just continue battle my way up for now unless it really gets a little too slow for my liking and I have spare dec lying around. Honestly a little expensive as I would rather pay for Conclave Arcana cards instead.

Wrap Up
Thank you for coming by my post as we look deeper into Frontier Format. I do see more levelled up lineup as I play and it is getting a little tougher but I guess, it also help us to learn to work with limitations and grow. Hopefully the daily claim can yield me some Archon and allow me to level up quickly to see growth in the foundation lineups. Should be rather fun playing with these cards daily, though one must really watch out on the energy and not overspend it.
