Community Engagement Challenge: Tasting Wild After So Many Seasons of Modern

Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. And Conclave Arcana is finally live with many players opening their packs and we share their joy when they open various foils. I really think it is so much fun to see more new cards moving into our midst, more cards means options, more options means more variation and more variation means more strategies which will lead us to a new meta. And unique for Conclave Arcana, there is a new bloodline mechanics that is available.

Experiencing The New Bloodline Mechanics in Wild Format

It was quite some time that I have touched the Wild Format because of the introduction of Wild Pass requirement that is needed to compete in Wild in view of bots eating up all the rewards in the Wild Format which is very bad for the Splinterlands Economics for normal players. I used to play Wild Format because I do have some really awesome wild eligible cards in my possession such as Unicorn Mustang, Serpentine Spy and Axe Master. How much have I missed them since I was only battling in the Modern format. They used to be my stronger cards but I had to leave them in the collection but not being able to call upon them.

But with the launch of Conclave Arcana and also for players to experience the new bloodline mechanics that comes with it, Splinterlands developers have waived off the usual 2000 DEC Wild Pass cost. When the Wild Pass first came out, we saw a significantly drop in the number of games in Wild. And this 2000 DEC cost is not exactly a small sum which was one of the biggest reason I swapped over to modern.

But with the waiver of the Wild Pass, its time for us to dive back into Wild format where we will have full access to cards (other than Gladius cards which needs to call out by Conscript Ability or when there is a specific ruleset for it. All your old combos can be accessed again, I certainly enjoyed this otherwise my wild cards ended up collecting dust and not finding the right purpose to be their old self once again.

I will now do a simple run down of how to access wild, especially for some of us whom have yet to turn on Wild format for a version long time and we need to swap over quickly.

This is what you see if you are a regular modern player whereby the interface is more on the blue tone:

From there, click on the "Wild" word beside Modern and you will come to this:

Usually, the "battle" word will be replaced by "Get Wild Pass" but now you can just click on "battle" to get your rusty wild format engines running.

And when you go right into the battlefield, your old friends/comrades especially the Chaos Legion cards that got rotated out are once again available for your picking and be ready for doing what they had do best in the past.

But remember, the key to having battles to be played in Wild is not to just grind it out like how past seasons have been. But remember to try out how Bloodline mechanics can lead you to new combos and greater gamplay and then translate them back to Modern after experimenting with a much bigger pool of cards. I am certainly looking forward to trying the mechanics out and see how much battle experience I can gather in this season where the developers gave out a free access in wild format. Make full use of this where more people will be in wild to also do testing before taking what we've learned and then set up our new combos and metas for modern.
