Community Engagement Challenge: Synergy - Happy Three Friends

Prelude
Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's challenge topic is something that I like to write about and it is on card combos and cards that have synergy with one another. Through the many battles that I went through, there are a couple of combo pairings/groups that have helped me go the distance in the ranks and allow me to be competing at a very decent level. So let's get started with today's sharing.

Happy Three Friends

The reason why I call them Happy Three Friends is because whenever I have this trio in play, the chances of me losing is really low. Who are they?

Iziar - The Shock Absorber

A card that has taunt and void, decent attack stats and also loads of health. This card is designed to be a shock absorber in this trio. And with the name shock absorber, this card goal is to have all the attack direct to it, sustain it and keep other cards safe. Iziar is awesome for magic matches since void help reduce the amount of magic damage it takes.

Spirit Hoarder - Backline Healer

The key ability we are talking here is Triage. With Triage, Spirit Hoarder is able to heal up Iziar whom will be standing in the last position and each turn, this ability administer a 4 damage heal on Iziar, helping her to stay alive to ensure this combo sustains.

Meriput Magician - Frontline Medic

The last of the trio is Meriput Magician. This cute little mouse purpose in the trio is to heal up the front tank. As we will be placing Iziar right at the back, to keep the damage received well manipulated, we need to ensure any frontal damage is also well received and subsequently healed up. While we have something to handle the backline, we also cannot allow the front line to be easily breached. And that is where it is a very sturdy combo when we have the 3 cards coming together.

Ruleset: Wands Out, Weak Magic and Deflection Field

Selection:
A quick discussion on the selection. This is a full magic match and this is where the trio thrives. Though something to note is that, non full magic lineup, this trio also works really well.

For my side of the lineup, to support the trio which will control the damage received, in terms of tanking, I chose Time Meddler due to the 4 armour it carries which will be able to sustain up sufficiently since armour needs to e broken first before it can get hurt. Next will be Djinn Renova whom will give the lineup an additional health. And the final card that needs to be mentioned will be Captain Katie whom will snipe and take down opponent cards and hopefully grow bigger as it kills any card on my opponent lineup.

As for my opponent, a strong choice in using Thaddius Brood as summoner to reduce overall magic attack and to use Djinn Muirat as the tank as it has Void Armour. Next in line is Insidious Warlock, a card that I rarely see but I guess this card can really hurt if we allow it to charge up. Next will be a sniper in the likes of Magi Necrosi followed by Life Sapper that can grow big if able to do damage. And following to the end will be Spirit Hoarder for the triage like how I plan for it and finally Magi of Chaos for some raw magic power.

Opponent did plan out a strong lineup but without a carefully thought damage management, it will not be able to handle my lineup that I planned where damage is very much contained and well managed.

Battle Synopsis

Round 1: This is where things start to be interesting whereby my lineup looked relatively unscathed but on my opponent end, I have effectively strip off Djinn Muirat's armour and getting some damage on it.

Round 2: Another round will absolutely control with some minor impact on the armour of Time Meddler but health wise, all is well controlled and Djinn Muirat is down to its last health before we breach the front line.

Round 3: Djinn Muirat fell and we continue delivering punishment to Insidious Warlock, lowering it to 1 health while I still manage to sustain my lineup. Total control and yet dishing out damage to my opponent.

Round 4, we continue to roll out punishment while taking out both Insidious Warlock and Magi Necrosi. This endless loop of healing and dishing out damage just control the gameplay totally.

Round 5 and 6, this was just the remnant of how we play the match where round 5 Spirit Hoarder was taken out and finally at round 6, Magi of Chaos also cannot sustain any longer and fell to the continuous bombardment of magic attacks. A match where the full lineup is intact and with full health while we clear out each and every card on my opponent end.

Wrap Up
This combo is rather wicked per say as it totally control the whole match. While damage do still come through, the rinse and dry methodology just heals everything up back to normal at the end of the round as cards on my opponent's end get taken out one by one. There is however one weakness to this combo is that Iziar is very high in mana, so this combo can only be pulled off in high mana matches where there is ample mana to go around.
