Community Engagement Challenge: Splinterlands Lore - Commander Slade

Prelude
Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's challenge is a little more unique than usual and I think people whom love to write and let their imagination run wild from diving deep into the lore of the game that we all love. I think it is always good to let ourselves learn more about the story behind the various cards and also more on the land of the whole game setting reside upon. As recently Commander Slade had helped me with loads of victories, I've decided to dwell more into it.

**Disclaimer: The lore and story that I am writing below is fully fictional with references drawn from the card lore. So if there are some inaccuracy to the full lore, I apologize for it.

Commander Slade: The Defected Warlord

Here is the towering Commander Slade that strikes fear to its foes with his presence. Wielding a ghastly sword and donning a tough armour. It sure gives a scary sight and already winning half of the battle because of its foes whom do not even dare to face it. Whenever he leads his troops to the battlefield, his only instruction to his troops is, leave no enemy alive, everyone that survive will come back and haunt you. However, the history of Commander Slade is not as simple as it seems.

Belurocian Empire

The Belurocian Empire is where he started his military career where his prowess were admired as whenever he is on the battlefield, there is absolutely no chance his army will lose a battle. He is known for his brutality and mercilessness which aided him to be effective on the battlefield and ensure all foes are being exterminated. With his military acumen and knowledge, he knew how to put in strategies to help him overcome his foe and ensuring a landslide defect every time. But because of his capabilities on the battlefield, attracted Silus of The Rift from Chaos Empire. Silus sent spies to find out what is Slade's weakness and also what he desires. The lust for victory feeds Slade and that is something that he wants but Belurocian Empire sometimes cannot agree with his ways. There are also instances that Slade fall out with other military commanders within the empire. This presented Silus with an amazing opportunity to sow discord and starting driving wedges in-between his leaders and fellow commanders. During one battle, when he was trampling his opponents with ease, a retreat instruction was being given to Slade to retreat which Slade did not agree as he was just one more battle before a complete victory. While he rejected, many more messengers were sent to hurry his retreat and Slade finally gave in.

Chaos Empire

The moment Slade gave in and finally retreated, it was the signal for Silus to besiege Slade and held him captive. A rare occasion that Slade did not win a battle.

Silus told Slade, if they do not give him an opportunity to showcase how good is he, why not join Silus in the Chaos Empire, the empire that will truly allow Slade to showcase his greatness on the battlefield and take down more land as they try to rule more land in Paretoria. Slade knew he had no choice but to join Silus especially when there were many unhappiness during the last days in Belurocian Empire.

Silus had full faith in Slade as he gave an order for him to march into Belurocian and take revenge on the very people that gave him trouble. Due to how well he knew the army in Belurocian and the various strategies used, he told Silus he can easily take down his past compatriots with a much smaller army.

Silus agreed and dispatched Slade. Within a short duration of 2 months on the battlefield, the people that Slade swore to take revenge on were wiped up with ease and with minimal losses in his army. While the people in Beluroican Empire hated what he did, Slade grew even more fearsome and gained powers in corrupting one's soul with water magic which make him even more formidable.

With his ever growing capabilities, he was promoted and given a new assignment where his new found powers can be put to good use in the Repubic of Fireboro.

More terror awaits as Slade takes up this new assignment. Whole land is worrying in fear.

Wrap Up
Wow that was one intense story writing that I had and I truly enjoyed it. I really should spend more time to read up the story so that I can fully immerse in the gameplay as I take my battles and also learn more about the disputed land we are battling on.
