Adapting to Modern: Prepare to Get More Rebellion Soul Bound Reward Cards Part 23

Prelude
Welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today focusing and getting more cards on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. We have been through a long way to have gone to have arrived at such a state whereby so many cards have been reviewed and we have come to the last card to review. It has been such a joy to be able to review so many card, experiencing the joy of sharing and going through the card, its utility and how it is viable in certain rulesets with you guys. However, knowing about the soul bound reward cards is not the end of things as there are still many aspect to learn about the modern play. I have yet to decide what to cover next, but there is a high chance I will be looking at all the rebellion cards as it will be the new base once Chaos Legion phases into Wild and we will need to know which are the cards that are likely to remain and worthy of building up as we continue working on getting better in our modern gameplay. So without further ado, let's start today's sharing for the final Soul Bound Reward card in the series.

Rebellion Soul Bound Reward Cards

Today we will continue looking through the last soul bound rewards card, of which is from Neutral Splinter. And this is a legendary card.

Chaos Battle Mage

And now, the final card of the Soul Bound series, the Chaos Battle Mage. One of last cards in the series and something to play for. A worthy card? Let us dive in to the stats of this card and take a closer look. It holds a constant 3 damage regardless of level and gain an ability whenever it levels up. Level 1 gains a piercing, level 2 rebirth, level 3 divine shield and level 4 redemption. Synergy wise in terms of the abilities I would say it does help the card to stay on field for as long as possible to deal piercing damage against those cards with armour. Otherwise, when it dies it still gives a value of Redemption. A strong card for sure but somehow I still find the Epic cards more useful than these. This will be a good "replacement" for Drybone Raider but not exactly as much. Bring versatility to the collection but definitely not the key card or main consideration unless we have loads of mana to spare. 8 mana for a range card is something that needs alot of consideration when putting in the lineup.

Assessment
And now to my assessment. I certainly think this is a good card to have especially now we have the neutral ruleset that somehow comes very often for me. I do like choices and options though I would have preferred if this was a magic attack card for such a big mana investment. However, it does have what it takes to punish your enemies when put correctly and start pushing big damages that are piercing. Not a bad card for sure.

In terms of rating, it will not be super high but for it being a strong neutral card, I would give it a 3.9/5. If you think there is stronger synergy for this card or better ways to play it, do let me know in the comments so that I can learn from you as well.
