Preview Episode 32: A MattClarke Conversation
Greetings, Splinterlands!
When we'd originally scheduled our November calendar, we had planned on taking the last week of the month for ourselves to recap the items in-game we'd failed to cover with guests and look at the month(s) ahead.
Given the recent developments in the @Splinterlands world, however, we felt there was no better time to try and bring in our next guest.
Our next conversation is set to be with yet another Splinterlander that needs no introduction, but we'll try.
This week we welcome to the People's Guild a guest whom, as the illustrious @Bobaphet so eloquently quotes @aggroed when bringing this gentleman to the mic, is one of the finest gentlemen that's ever lived, @Mattclarke.
Episode 32: A Matt Clarke Conversation
We were privileged to sit-in with the guys over at Splinterlands 101 a couple of weeks ago - definitely a conversation worth checking out - and we have been chomping at the bit to dive a bit deeper with them on their own personal journeys through Web3, the Hive blockchain and Splinterlands.
Enter: Matt Clarke. Just look at this Splinterlands resume
- Early, EARLY adopter of @splinterlands / Steemmonsters
- Controller of the entire Flesh Golem market - owns a cool 33%+/- of all printed copies
- Massive landowner - Praetorian royalty as the overseer of two castles and two regions of land
We plan to pick Matt's brain and gather his thoughts towards the company and the business' decision to lay off 45% of staff this past week and what this means for his plans, present and future, within the game.
With the company communicating a renewed sense of dedication to the core gameplay and to the stakeholders in the game in vowing to deliver on past promises made to the community, we'll be curious to hear where our guest believes the biggest value to be had lies.
We look forward to getting some perspective from an OG that's navigated a bear market with Splinterlands before - remember, Steemmonsters was born in a bear market in 2018, a year that saw BTC plunge 75% - a figure not too dissimilar to what we've seen thus far in 2022.
