Last Brawl Report, I talked about the upcoming RIFTWATCHERS airdrop, Sea Wreck and what an absolute terror it looks to be when it makes it into games.
Well... we've reached the mark.
1.5 million Gems have been sold or burned and that means Sea Wreck is on it's way. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, we still have to wait another 3 days for it's official release.
You would think with knowing that the goal of 1.5 millions Gems was going to be reached at any moment, that the airdrop would be ready to go with the push of a button, but that doesn't seem to be the case. So we wait eagerly (a common theme it would seem here in Splinterlands) to see if we'll be one of the lucky ones to claim this much anticipated monster.
Battle #1 - Loss
Ruleset - Standard
In principle, I had the right idea with Thaddius Brood to counter Obsidian. However, Bertrol Gobson got off to a fast start with it's first round kill. Bloodlust having taken over just made it an unstoppable force as it continued to build up more kills.
Battle #2 - Win
Ruleset - Weak Magic / Holy Protection / Rise of the Commons
From round 1, my opponent, despite having more speed, had their attack spread out too much. Thus Holy Protection not only prevented any damage, but Thorns was able to eliminate their own protection. My attacks were focused on their tank who had already lost Holy Protection. After that, the continued Thorns damage helped kill their melee attackers, leaving just Scavo Hireling and Xenith Archer to deal with.
Battle #3 - Win
Ruleset - Silenced Summoners / Lost Legendaries / Melee Mayhem
There's a few similarities in our line-ups, but also some key differences. One of the biggest of which is my Axemaster, who really takes control of this battle right from the very beginning. Although he doesn't kill Wave Brood, he quickly helps whittle down it's HP with that Double Strike. My Deeplurker is also able to get in some key strikes in on their weakest monsters thanks to Opportunity.
Battle #4 - Win
Ruleset - Are You Not Entertained? / Even Stevens / Melee Mayhem
Just like I did in my first loss, my opponent perfectly cancels out my Obsidian with Thaddius Brood. Also like my first loss, it really doesn't matter, as I pull off the win. I get off to a rough start, losing my healer, Goblin Psychic right away. Fortunately, Grund steals the show and keeps the win well within reach.
Battle #5 - Win
Ruleset - Opponent Fled
All I can really say here is... Thank you for the free win!
I'm extremely happy with finishing 4-1. I've continued to keep the wins coming since last brawl with an very nice record. As always, my work is never complete, and there's much room for improvement, but I can be happy with the results none-the-less.
