It's been a while since I've really paid close attention to my ranked battles. I usually just rent cards and let the bot pilot its way through the two weeks. But this last season, I tried to play in the modern league and had good results.

I actually did pay the wild pass and let the bot play in the first week. But in the final seven days, I played it manually and quickly rose to the diamond league.

I've also noticed significant difference in SPS rewards between modern and wild. I was only gaining close to 1 SPS per win in wild while modern gave me 3 to 4 SPS per win especially since I was frequently hitting win streaks. This is probably due to the fact that I played later in the season and most of the max leveled players were already in the Diamond and Champion ranks.

As for the rewards, it's not really that impressive as I've gotten a bunch of potions and merits. That's not the most ideal result I would want for opening major chests. It's a good thing that there were also energies mixed within them which contributed a lot to my total SPS gains.

I've also realized that I was using Quilliun Legionary more than other reward cards. I'm now considering changing my strategy to opening rare and epic draws instead of chests to hasten the leveling of my card collection.

Incoming Rental Changes

Finally, it looks like the proposal for changing rentals to seasonal only will undoubtedly pass. I understand where the people supporting this are coming from. We might as well abolish the whole rental system and let card ownership be the standard when playing ranked battles. But I think this is ill timed as we are still trying to grow our community. Having this implemented now will see a further decline in the playerbase as there are many who only play with two-day rentals. Just my opinion.
