If there was one Rebellion card that I absolutely overlooked, it would be Arachne Weaver. When it comes to the new set of epic reward cards, Olivia of the Brook might be the most popular in the community. I personally found Shock Trooper and Halfling Refugee very useful in certain rule sets. It was not after hearing it from Gathering The Magic numerous times on YouTube did I took notice. Card Stats and Abilities

For 5 mana, Arachne Weaver's stats are not that high. But that is also ideal because healers are usually slower than other units ensuring there is something to heal when its turn comes.

The main strength of Arachne Weaver lies in the new ability it has, Corrupted Healing. It heals 70% health of all other units and reduces their max health by 1. It's like a trade-off for recovery, their lifespans are slowly reduced. This reminds me of how Ivankov's ability heals Luffy from One Piece.

From my experience so far, Arachne Weaver is best played in high mana matches where you can fill your lineup with big units like Arkemis the Bear, Coeurl Lurker, and Djinn Miurat. Because these units have above-average health, the drawback of 1 max health from healing is inconsequential. The mana limit was 48 so I was able to bring in huge monsters to my lineup. The problematic monster on my opponent's side was Deeplurker due to its opportunity and poison abilities. But thanks to Arachne Weaver, the sustained damage was nullified on my units. Arachne Weaver's own poison was also helpful. But scavenger became more significant in this battle since there is born again, reviving all units that die one time.

It is not yet apparent to many players but I believe Arachne Weaver will be a key piece in the upcoming shift in the modern meta. What's neat is that it can be acquired for just playing the game right now. I suggest you guys also get your copies before a new set of reward cards are introduced.
