The recent release note for Splinterlands has revealed some interesting new cards for the Hall of Legends promo. And among them, one particularly interesting unit caught my attention and it's Fizbo the Fabulous.

I think this is the only time that a legendary monster with tank heal has been introduced after the Alpha set's Spirit of the Forest and Angel of Light. Another interesting to note is that Fizbo is dual colored, fire and earth. This introduces fire element to the tank heal ability which rarely happens.

Fizbo looks a bit similar to Goblin Psychic in terms of mana cost and healing/affliction abilities. Given that he is a legendary card, Fizbo is superior in speed and magic damage. And while I favor silence more, the new ability, Shroud of Reflection Shield, will be extremely useful in the upcoming modern meta. There are a ton of blast and thorn ability users in the Rebellion set alone, and there may be more coming from Conclave Arcana.

I've yet to have a chance to try it but I think Meriput Mossmender would be a good combination for Fizbo. Meriput has cleanse and repair, two support abilities that Fizbo is lacking to fully back up a tank monster. The echo is also an interesting new ability. All they would need is a strong tank unit to give support to. Another new card, Ulfga the Blighted might be a good unit for the lineup as prolonging it on the battlefield is also an interesting strategy to try.

Fizbo the Fabulous appears to be a very solid card especially in preparation for the upcoming modern changes. And given that it will be in the last part of the Hall of Legends, I assume many would avail of this new card. The format is changing and it would be tougher to compete in modern especially for players like me that rely on card rentals. But at the same time, it will be exciting to see what the strategies will look like.
