Splinterlanes Update — A lobby that feels like a game

Splinterlanes got a new coat of paint this week. The goal was simple: it should feel like a game you sit down to play, not a website you fill in. Nothing about the rules changed. This is how the place looks, moves and answers you.

New here? Splinterlanes is a three-Lane battle variant of Splinterlands played with your real collection. Tickets cost $0.01, and winners roll for real cards delivered on-chain. Learn how to play · Play now

The new lobby

The lobby is now built around you and one big button:

  • Your player plate across the top: your portrait and title, your Ratings, your Ladder rank, and your Tickets. Tap the + beside your Tickets to top up. If you're out, the top-up opens by itself.
  • One big Battle button for Ranked, with the Season countdown above it and the top prize in the pool right now beside it.
  • Mode cards for Sealed, Draft, Practice and Private Rooms: one line each and one button. The full rules for each mode fold away under "How it works", so they're there when you want them and out of the way when you don't.

Things you can press, and things that move

  • Buttons look and feel like buttons. They're raised, and they sink when you press them. Tick boxes are sockets that light up.
  • The Ladder has a podium. First, second and third stand on plinths above the rest of the Season.
  • Every match ends with a Victory or Defeat banner, with your new Rating counting up on it. If you won a prize, it arrives next: the card flips over to show you what you got.
  • The match log reads like a log. Each row shows its round and the art of the card that entered, coloured by which side played it.
  • The front page shows a real battle playing instead of a still picture.

If your device asks for reduced motion, the animations stay off.

When a page is empty, it tells you what to do

  • No Talismans yet? Your Talismans page shows all 52 frames waiting to be filled, one for every Rules Mod.
  • No one on the Ladder yet this Season? The podium stands empty, with a button to go and battle for a place on it.
  • Collection can't make a Deck yet? The Deck Builder shows how close you are: Archons out of 3, Monsters out of 50. It also lists the ways to play right now without one. Practice deals you a Deck, Sealed gives you a Bundle of cards to build from, and Draft lets you pick your cards one at a time.

Card pictures no longer sit blank

Sometimes our image server is slow to answer. When that happened, a card's picture could sit blank for a long time. Now, if a picture hasn't arrived after a few seconds, the card fetches it from Splinterlands' own image server instead.

Something look wrong, or did a page lose something you used? Comment below. We read quickly, and this blog is where support lives. Questions about cards, Tickets or prizes are probably already answered in the Splinterlanes FAQ.
