Splinterlanes Update — Light mode, and a fresh coat of paint

Splinterlanes Update Log

This batch is mostly about how Splinterlanes looks and reads. There is now a Light mode covering every screen including the battlefront, the type is bigger and easier to read, the lobby is rearranged so nothing important sits below the fold, and the prize pool got two tune-ups underneath it all.

New here? Splinterlanes is three-lane battles for your real Splinterlands collection: Tickets cost $0.01, winners roll for real cards, delivered on-chain. How to play · Battle now

Light or Dark, your choice

Open the ? menu in the top bar and you will find Settings. It has one setting: Appearance. Pick Dark, Light, or Match my system, and the whole site follows — including the battlefront, the top bar, and the battle header.

The same Friendly Lane in Light and in Dark

Dark is still the house look and still the default. Nothing changes unless you ask it to.

A fresh coat

The site was built entirely from flat colour and line art, which is clean but weightless — every surface was perfectly smooth. It now has material:

  • an aged-paper texture across the field, and an etched-plate texture inside the panels;
  • an engraved emblem on each lobby tile, drawn for this game;
  • body text in white, a size or two larger everywhere, and a page that runs the full width of the top bar instead of a narrow ribbon down the middle.

The stock emoji are gone with it. Where a mark earns its place we draw our own now — the Mana bolt, the fallen-Monster mark — and where it did not, there is simply nothing. The Ticket keeps its symbol.

The lobby, rearranged

The top prize in the pool now stands beside Ranked with its card art big enough to actually look at, rather than as a thumbnail on a strip below. The Battle button is a button again instead of a bar stretched across the page. And the Ticket top-up moved up beside your balance, which is where you look when you have run out — it used to sit at the very bottom of the page.

Prizes and opponents

Two changes under the hood, both aimed at the same thing: keeping the prize pool healthy so the cards keep coming.

Card-prize odds now scale exactly with a match's Tickets. Expect Talisman prizes a little more often in the mix. The 98% prize return is unchanged.

New prize cards reach the pool sooner. The cards your Tickets pay for now arrive up to six hours earlier than they used to.

Ranked matches got harder too: expect tougher opposing Decks than before.

The Ladder, if you missed it

The Ladder is open — every player's standing this Season, plus how the last two Seasons finished. It is under Battle, and it is public, so the link works for anyone.

Ratings changed shape at the same time: beating someone rated well above you is worth far more than beating someone below you, so the Ladder measures who you beat rather than how much you play. There is a full walkthrough in Ranked: how to climb the Ladder.
