Stock up now on these Starter Cards now before they boom!! - (based on Splinterlands Town Halls info)

As those of you who follow the Splinterlands Town Halls may know, there are some exciting new changes announced on the Town Hall held on the 23rd of March, which will come into effect quite soon (either on the 15th of April at the end of the current season or at the end of the month). These are as follows:

  • Starter Cards or Ghost cards used in Ranked battles will not earn as much DEC as owned cards (Starter cards are the ones you can use for free)
  • Currently in the Modern format, Starter Cards are either Untamed/Chaos Legion common cards such as those below.

Therefore this will create a push for more Splinterlands players to buy their own Chaos Legion and Untamed cards in order to maximize their DEC earnings and an appreciation in the values of commonly used Chaos Legion and Untamed Cards.

As Chaos Legion packs are still about halfway remaining, its fair to assume their values will decline as more packs are opened.
Therefore our focus should be on the Untamed starter cards which we use commonly and which are likely to appreciate in value once the new changes come into effect.

So in this article I will look at a few key Untamed common Starter cards which I believe will go up in value as a result of the new changes.

1.Living Lava - $4.00

This is a strong Tank for the Fire Splinter that is used quite often even at 1 BCX in Bronze and Silver leagues. With the new changes, the Starter version will not be able to earn max amount of DEC so its well worth buying a copy of this staple card.

2.Serpentine Spy - $2.50

This is a great Opportunity card that pairs well with the Fire Summoner Tarsa's attack bonus and one that I use quite often in Ranked battles as a key part of my Fire Splinter Team. This is another Starter card whose value is well positioned to increase as a result of the changes.

3.Unicorn Mustang - $7.50

Unicorn Mustang is a strong anti magic tank (Void - reduced magic damage) for the Earth Splinter which is commonly seen in Bronze, Silver and even Gold levels . Even a 1 BCX investment in this card will be useful when the new changes come into effect.

4.Failed Summoner - $2.08

This is a great low mana anti magic meat shield which is used quite often in Bronze and Silver leagues.

5.Khmer Princess - $7.02

Another popular pick for the low mana Earth splinter teams which pairs well with Obsidian's magic buff.

6.Shieldbearer - $6.94

The Shieldbearer with taunt ability is the go to tank for the Life splinter and the Starter version at 1 BCX is still used by many Bronze and Silver league players who prefer to shell out their cash for some other more exotic cards.

So in summary these are my top picks for cards which I anticipate to rise in value due to the new changes for Ranked Battles affecting Starter cards.

Stocking up on these cards seems like a good investment before everyone else jumps on board and these cards pump in value so I hope this information helps you make a wise decision.

It would be worth getting at least 1 BCX for your own usage or multiple as an investment before the new rules come into effect.

(Not financial advice and take with a grain of salt ;) )
