I was really surprised when the Daily Wheel Spin—or Lux's Favor Wheel—finally landed on the most anticipated option: the Frontier Cards. This slot offers a chance to get one of the two limited-edition cards from the Frontier collection, which has a limited supply (an important detail).
Over the days, while trying to maintain my Daily Streak to earn the "Streak Master" title, the wheel landed on the Frontier Cards option several times, but I never actually got one... Meanwhile, other community members were posting about winning yet another one...

Splinterlands Extra Frontier Card - Aurendrak
Among the possible cards available in the Frontier Cards option on Lux's Favor Wheel, there were two: Vaelok and Aurendrak. Both are Dragon-type cards from the Drakoshan bloodline, yet the difference between them is massive.
Vaelok is a 2-damage mage with low defensive stats and a very high mana cost; this is reflected in its price, as it is one of the two cheapest "extra" cards—trading at around $0.20—and is just one unit among many.
Aurendrak, on the other hand, is a Legendary Archon currently trading at $4.80. As a Legendary Archon, it allows units to be used in combat at higher starting levels: Commons at Level 3, Rares at Level 2, Epics at Level 2, and Legendaries at Level 1. For those familiar with the community, the card's style strongly resembles that of the user "goldcardmatter," as it features cards from older collections floating in its hands. The art is quite interesting overall—though can you imagine an effect that transforms the card's border?
The Archon Aurendrak possesses an optional ability to grant either Flank or Void Shield to a unit. This allows for a choice based on the match situation at specific moments, offering greater flexibility. This is the first card in my collection to feature such an option, making the pre-match phase—where you select which ability to use—quite interesting, even if Void was the choice most of the time.
There are two possible strategies to use with Aurendrak: The first involves using Flank to position another melee unit in the second slot, since Flank grants the Reach ability to the unit behind it. The other option is to choose a massive tank—one that might otherwise be easily defeated by magic damage—and pair it with a unit possessing Void to take 50% less magic damage.
The only issue with using Aurendrak is the high mana cost. Both strategies involve deploying strong cards that usually come with a hefty mana price tag. The Flank strategy requires two cards, whereas the Void strategy focuses on a single card to absorb the opponent's damage. When you add Aurendrak's own 8-mana cost on top of the units' costs, things can get complicated...
If you aren't participating in the Splinterlands Daily Wheel yet, consider giving it a try; you’ll have a chance to snag bonus cards, and if you maintain your streak long enough, you can earn a title that grants Glint and SPS bonuses during your matches.

Splinterlands Extra Frontier Card - Aurendrak
Dentre as possibilidades de cartas que poderiam vir nessa opção de Frontier Cards na Lux's Favor Wheel haviam duas: Vaelok ou Aurendrak. Ambas são cartas do tipo dragão e da bloodline drakoshan, mas a diferença entre as duas é gigantesca.
Enquanto o Vaelok é um mago de 2 dano, com status defensivos baixos e um altíssimo custo de mana, refletindo no seu preço como uma das duas cartas extra mais baratas, valendo por volta de $0,20, sendo uma unidade dentre várias.
Já a Aurendrak é uma archon lendária, sendo negociada atualmente por $4,80. Por ser uma archon lendária, possibilita usar unidade em combate já em níveis maiores: commons lv3, rares lv2, epics lv2 e lendárias lv1. Para quem conhece a comunidade o estilo da carta lembra muito o usuário goldcardmatter porque tem flutuando algumas cartas de coleções antigas nas mãos. Arte bem interessante no geral, mas já imaginou um efeito de transformar uma borda da carta?
A archon Aurendrak possui a habilidade opcional de fornecer flank ou void shield para uma das unidades, sendo possível fazer a escolha dependendo da situação da partida em alguns momentos, conseguindo ter uma maior flexibilidade. Essa é a primeira carta que tem essa opção na minha coleção, então é algo bem interessante, ter a fase antes do início da partida em que escolhe qual habilidade usar, por mais que na maioria das vezes a escolha foi void.
Estratégias possíveis de serem utilizadas com a Aurendrak são duas: A primeira é utilizar Flank para conseguir colocar um outro melee na segundo posição, já que o flank garante a unidade seguinte a habilidade Reach. Já a outra opção seria escolher um grande tank que normalmente poderia ser derrotado facilmente por dano mágico e colocar um Void para receber 50% a menos de dano mágico.
O único problema de utilizar a Aurendrak é o grande consumo de mana. Ambas as estratégias envolvem colocar cartas fortes e que normalmente vão custar bastante mana também. No caso da Flank vai usar 2 cartas, enquanto no void o foco vai ser em uma única carta que vai receber o dano do oponente. Agora se além desse custo das unidades, somarmos o custo de 8 de mana para utilizar a Aurendrak acaba sendo algo complicado...
