Hello everybody in the hive community and to all gamers of hive. This is my entry to the splinterlands community engagement challenge.
The task for this week's engagement challenge is to write about our favorite strategies. Even till now, I consider myself a relatively a new player who doesn't know too much about to game. As a result, my strategy will be a simple one that has been working and letting me win games. I am still trying as much as I can to climb in rating and improve my card deck.
Because my card collection is not a lot right now, I use the earth element in majority of my battles. My favorite strategy currently will have to do with picking the obsidian summoner first. I have quickly learn that magic attacks affect the health directly except in a few occasions when some cards with special abilities have their shield attacked first or halve the magic attacks they receive.
Because that is just in a few exceptions, I almost always select Obsidian unless I am not allowed to. Now, the card combinations is next. When the mana for the battle is not much, I select Mycelic Slipspawn first because of the high health. Although all the attacks will be directed at it, the high health will sustain some of the attacks.
After mycelic splispawn, I make sure to select Goblin Psychic to help restore some of the lost health. This helps especially when the battle mana is small and the opponent cannot bring a lot of cards to attack me. Goblin Psychic is very helpful because aside just healing Mycelic Slipspawn, it has an attack of 2 magic. So when I pair it with the obsidian summoner, it becomes 3 magic which is capable of doing a lot of damage.
In situations where the battle mana is huge, I still select Mycelic Slipspawn, Goblin Psychic and Obsidian. However, I add other cards to make my selection stronger. In this case, I select Teraceous Grunt in first position because it only attacks and has a health of 10. If after adding this to my team and there is still mana, I select Hunter Jarx to take advantage of its scattershot ability. That helps me do more damage to my opponent's cards because while the others are attacking the first card, Hunter jarx is busy attacking the other cards which is mostly the second card.
When I still have some mana left for the battle, I just select other cards to make up the team and those who can attack like Regal Peryton who has a high speed and other cards.
These are my most used and most favored strategies for facing my opponents. kindly let me know what you think and suggest what I can do to make it better.
Thank you.
