I have reached all my goals from the first half of the week on Splinterlands. My entry in the social media challenge of the latest edition is all about sharing my experience and providing tips to beginners.

How I was introduced to Splinterlands

I have first seen Splinterland's article on the Steem blog with cards and battle recordings. It was in 2018. I was not sure about investing in a blockchain-backed game at that time. I was not sure if the project last until the following year. I waited and kept learning more about these innovative ways to trade cards, play cards, and build a strategy on the board.

The final argument that built my confidence in the game was the pack presale event where all the newly released editions were bought in a matter of seconds after launch. I bought the Beta edition packs and completed my basic selection on Water and then Fire with the cards available in the internal market.

I play most of the time when I am free. However, I can play for long hours around three hours in a row. I got many cards as a reward over the last four years I have been playing Splinterlands. I hope that my experience of the game won't discourage new players. It is highly possible to win against me because rulesets randomly change and most powerful cards are not always available to enter the arena.

How to navigate the platform and join battles

The safest way to join the game is to create your accounts with the assistance of the Splinterlands website and then install the Hivekey chain App or Extension to manage all your important keys. Please never share your keys with anybody. Not even friendly assistants or advisers on forums or discussion groups.

The battle rankings section of the game is located on the icon Number Five when you look at the picture above.

Once in the battle section, you will enter the selection of cards according to your understanding of the rulesets and counter strategy at play. It is mandatory to submit your selection before the countdown reaches zero.

The battle example in the illustration above was set in the Gold League. It has four rulesets located above round 1. My team was on the low section of the board while my opponent was on the top layer.

Strategy Tips for Beginners

It is vital to play the game in the free mode to get a good overview of all the key element positions on the screen before getting your spellbooks. Also, the review of previous battles with a specific type of rule set is the training I never stopped doing since I joined Splinterlands.

Challenges I faced, and overcame. Also, memorable moments

I was confronted with a serious problem in purchasing assets in the game in 2018. My local currency in West Africa had almost no pair for trade into crypto. The situation got better in 2020. I could then move out of the Silver League and tackle bigger challenges in Gold and Diamond.
It was a rough time when I lost almost 60% of the battle in the game, but it was a phase that taught me a lot about the economics and strategies in the game.

I find an overwhelming support from the community during that difficult time. I kept writing articles about my journey and the lessons I got from my challenges. I have not stopped sharing well well-designed article about gameplay in Splinterlands. All players in the game should share videos or write about their adventures joining the game or interactions inside the game's ecosystem.

Retos que enfrenté y superé. Además, momentos memorables.
Me enfrenté a un problema grave al comprar activos en el juego en 2018. Mi moneda local en África Occidental casi no tenía par para intercambiar criptomonedas. La situación mejoró en 2020. Entonces pude salir de la Liga Plata y afrontar desafíos más grandes en Oro y Diamante.
