Good morning everyone and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog! It's a Saturday early morning for me, quiet with the family still asleep and it's dark outside - the perfect time to make another Splinterlands blog post!

I started my day with some ranked battles in Modern League, the fights are really hard now I've pushed to Gold 1 with my Silver level deck, most of the players I am facing now have max level archons with much higher level cards so every battle needs max effort to win but the rewards are nice.

I always try not to let my battle energy get to 50, when I stop playing I estimate when I will be playing again so this morning when I logged in I was at 48 energy - good timing to grind some more battles!

But, now that I have drained my energy a bit it's time to make my first post to take part in this weeks challenges so I can buy some more SPS, I don't think we will have these low prices for ever and with the rental market heating up with more demand than supply at the 0.001 floor price this will only become more difficult to rent a steady stream of SPS for a good price so as with everything in life just like my deck of cards as well as my house I rather OWN than rent. 😊

14 days ago on my last season overview (this is exactly why I make these overviews, so I can track my progress) I was at 128,135 SPS and today I am at 133,146 thanks to the brawl battles on multiple accounts, ranked play in Wild by XBot, my blogging earnings which I swap for SPS and my Gold Foil card sales I earned and then swap the DEC for SPS my stack increased with 5k in only 14 days so that's awesome. 😊
This, together with the 50k staked on my Modern account, I am closing in on the next milestone of 200k!

Sharing a Battle

The battle I want to share for this post is a battle I had this morning, for some reason I was seeing a lot of familiar names one after another this morning and this was also with my opponent for this battle, they have a much higher level deck and usually kick my ass but today it was payback time. 😉

With 54 mana available we can make very strong line-ups and without any abilities, magic is the strongest because it can fire from any position and ignores armor, on battles like these I like to use Akane so I can give the Ambush ability to my two strongest attackers.

First look at the battlefield:

My Line-Up:

• Archon: Akane - reason: Ambush and access to the Dragons.
• First position: Halfling Refugee - reason: Meat shield for 1 mana.
• Second position: Saltwraith Bulkhead - reason: Great card without the exhaust debilitation.
• Third position: Calamity - reason: Good attack and HP, low mana, without debilitation it's awesome.
• Fourth position: Rage - reason: The King of Dragons.
• Fifth position: Night Reaper - reason: Good attack with high HP.
• Sixth position: Janni Rebel - reason: High HP magic attacker, in hindsight I had better switched around number 5 and 6 in my team.

The Battle:

Round 1: WOW! With the Ambush round included where the Skinwalker got deleted right away, the Leopard got killed right after in Round 1, my Refugee was also killed but it was only a meat shield.

Round 2: This is one FIERCE battle, sparks and fire are flying everywhere and so far it's looking OK, that Gottem has a damn high supply of Health Points so I still think that can cause problems for my team...

Round 3: Both Calamity's died, it's three vs. two now and I have 4 HP more on the board plus an extra attack, in theory this should work out!

Round 4: Oh come on kill that Rebel!

Round 5: Looking good! Gottem always seems tough with so much HP but in so many battles where I fought it, I won and it died really fast. A tank without Shield or Void is very vulnerable and the reason why I haven't bought it and bought Mantaroth instead.

Round 6: This is almost over... finish him! (Mortal Kombat vibes!)

It's a win for me! Now, Greatbull will undoubtedly get revenge on me multiple times for this but hey.. a win is a win! 😄 400 glint and 4 SPS isn't bad at all, my boost is at 9.1x now with this high in rating which is near my top around 2650 ~ 2680.
With 1 day and 7 hours left in this season it starts to get time to prepare for the season end, drain my energy enough so that I can skip playing for the first two days and hopefully I can stay around this rating with it to end up in the top 50 leader board at the minimum.
