Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well and have a good start of the longer weekend due to Easter, but I guess it's only celebrated in the Christian parts of the world, I don't know - I'm happy to have one day extra for all my Splinterlands things going on! 😃

Today it's a Saturday so I'm long overdue with starting my first Splinterlands blog post for this week, in my regular schedule I make my first post on Thursday but I'm feeling less energetic for the last two weeks, maybe I'm grinding this thing a bit too hard 😅 so where I can I'm taking things a little bit more easy for now.
With all excitement going on in Praetoria it's kinda hard not to want to grind to the max, and because our second guild, NFG-Club Legion II has become active again with brawls thanks to some new members joining, I'm helping in there with two accounts for filling the brawl frays but I was already doing three accounts in our main guild on top of my own two accounts I do ranked battles with it's a lot of work.

Only one more season after this one for the 'old' rotation before Chaos Legion rotates out, changing pretty much everything and starting a new era for Splinterlands. We're almost there, and when it happens, I will only play one account by hand - I'm glad we're almost there but I don't want to miss out on additional rewards while I can, so the grind continues!

Well... what amazing thing to talk about? I have one personal I will make the main topic about this post about but first, let's talk about the price of SPS!

The chart looks very good with a pump of 138% in only two weeks, there's a lot of excitement in the community and it's damn nice to see the value of my SPS bag increasing almost daily, respect and thanks to all the players who stand their ground in the dark times along with me, I'm proud to be one of them.

Welcome to the Family!

The 'Welcome to the Family' thing is a well know thing in the Splinterlands community on X, formerly known as Twitter, shoutout to @ank12c who started this, and I have a nice one to share for this post myself.

So, Ank loves his Gold Foil cards, and has bought a lot of them, sharing them on X with posts like these and then other players started to do the same, pretty cool!

Thanks to my friend and guildy @cherokee4life I started with using FreeCash and with playing another game, I earned over $90 with it, you can read all about it in this post.
And because this was unexpected funds I could funnel in to my account and one particular card was on my wish list for a while already, before I could even cash out I knew what I was going to use it for...

So, Welcome to the Family - Hive edition!

Sharing a battle

I was eager to use her in battle of course, I did rent her before to test her out but when I did, it was only for two days and I really like to OWN my cards so rarely rent stuff because the money is gone afterwards.

This morning I was submitting my brawl battles for all FIVE accounts (I'm actually thinking about bringing a sixth account in after the rotation as long as our second guild is still short on players) and I haven't played a lot with Venka until now because it was a work week and all that, and I really love how easy she is to put in the middle of the team for only 7 mana with a good amount of damage and the Piercing ability is awesome, so I was testing her out on my opponents with a good amount of success!

One of the losses was a melee only battle against Tofu, so there's nothing I can put against that, that will help me win 😅 it's even worse than Mylor back in the day.

The battle I want to share for this post is a fresh one for the active brawl for this cycle, it's a 34 mana Modern Gold level 'tis but scratches battle with the Fire, Death and Dragon splinterlands to choose from, another great thing about Venka is she's Neutral so I'm using her a lot! No telling what my opponent will come up with on this rule set so I'm just making a nice team, I was going for stopping power at the front while nerfing magic with Thaddius.

First look at the battlefield:

Hmmm, the speed of Void Dragon is going to be a challenge I think but I did well on choosing Harklaw as my tank with so much ranged damage, it's going to get healed by the Weaver while my own team does a lot of damage, let's see how this goes!

My Line-Up:

• Summoner: Thaddius Brood - reason: -1 magic damage.
• First position: Harklaw - reason: Shield.
• Second position: Venka the Vile - reason: Great DPS while being protected by my tank.
• Third position: Arachne Weaver - reason: Corrupted healing will hopefully keep my team alive.
• Fourth position: Soul Strangler - reason: Great damage for 3 mana.
• Fifth position: Whistling Damon - reason: Not a card I use a lot, but it was a nice fit for the remaining 3 mana.
• Sixth position: Silent Sha-Vi - reason: Fast sneaker with good damage.

The Battle:

Round 1: Not a lot has happened when you look at the damage, I hope I can kill the incendiary guy next turn, he does way too much damage. As long as the Chaos Dragon doesn't kill my Weaver I think I'm fine.

Round 2: Harklaw missed its attack but that's fine, his job is to stop the enemy damage, nothing more, I like my Weaver now has the scavenge ability,it gives it a lot more survivability. Once the Void Dragon is killed it's a win.

Round 3: I'm amazed my entire team is still alive, even the 1 HP guys 😁.

Round 4: And then the Chaos Dragon died as well, it's a great card but it needs that 3rd magic damage for the blast to be effective and I nerfed that. With only a ranged unit left, unable to attack, Silent Sha-Vi is the fastest unit on the battlefield so he will get the honor for the last kill, bringing the victory to me and my guild, VONAK!

So far, it's going to be a tight top 3 where a lot can still change, the nr.1 and nr.3 have a lot more submitted battles, so hopefully my guild members will submit theirs in time to get some more wins in.

Well, that's it for today's post, on to grinding my ranked battles so it doesn't reach 50 since that's a waste of potential rewards!
