I wish all of you a great 2025, hopefully it's going to as epic as most crypto savvy people think it's going to be, I think it will be a great year so I'm very excited for crypto in general and for Splinterlands in special!

It's that time of the week again to make another Splinterlands Challenge blog post to hopefully earn some upvotes so I can buy more cards or SPS with, this weeks Social Media Challenge has the same theme as last weeks:

Some insights and a great new summoner!

I have two topics to talk about this week, so I start with the first which is a thought or insight I've been having for a while:

Owning assets should be rewarded!

What I mean with assets in this case are the cards themselves actually, owning SPS gets you vote weight in the proposals AND earns a sweet 10% APR at this time, owning land gives you a 5% or more glint boost for ranked battles if you own 5 or more plots, and owning cards gets you.... nothing 😏 and with nothing I mean compared with renting cards.

In my humble opinion owning any type of asset should be rewarded compared to renting because I think this shows you're here for the long run and you have trust in the game, and before I'm being accused I stole their idea, I'm not entirely sure I came up with this myself or heard it in a podcast somewhere, probably in thepeoplesguild or aftersound shows if that's the case, but it doesn't make it less important 😁

Same with land owning, which gives a 5% boost, I think for using an owned card in battle you should get a 0.75 - 1% boost, meaning if you own all cards and the summoner (7 cards), you will get a 5-7% glint boost.

Legendary Summoners!

Because venting the idea above isn't worth an entire post, I want to share something else I'm excited about, people following me already know I've been grinding hard to earn as much glint as possible to prepare for the rotation in modern league in April, Conclave Arcana will replace Chaos Legion and this will have a HUGE impact.

I'm planning for my main account to move to wild with the Diamond level Chaos Legion deck, supported with a lot of lower level older cards, my alt account will be a Silver level modern account.

I started with buying the common dual level Rebellion summoners, with all the rulesets around that LIMIT the cards we can use, I think many players underestimate the importance of being able to use the cards from two splinters, this way having an advantage in the battles with these rulesets.

I already had Prunda Undervesch, Brewmaster Abraxas, Zeddica and Dolfar Darflak at Silver level, and I am still waiting on some cheap BCX for Chuul Jujinchi, and also Underboss Fabino at Silver level, he's a rare summoner. Just before Christmas I moved some new funds in to the game, got a nice Pengu airdrop and then I got a €35 voucher from my wife under the Christmas Tree to use in Splinterlands, combined with the earnings I received for the blogs I made last weeks I went on a shopping spree for some legendary summoners!

So, in the last two weeks, I've been making some bid buys and am now done collecting with my legendary summoners, and BOY it's a lot of fun using them, the tactics is all new to me because I was still using the much cheaper Chaos Legion summoners.

I think it's a great addition to the common and rare summoners I have, for now I delegated them to my alt account to have fun with.

Of course Lorkus and Tofu are missing here but they're pretty expensive 😅

Sharing a battle with Risqruel Drath!

Last week I already made a post about how cool Elias is, this time I was having fun with Risqruel Drath, the +1 ranged damage with flying makes it a great allround card and a specialist for the Earthquake ruleset and the tactics he brings makes him awesome, you can either choose to give Impede and Truestrike to two of your units, this lowers the target monsters speed on every attack, making this very useful when the other team is much faster and you think you will get a lot of misses because of the speed difference.

The other tactic to choose is better in my opinion, it can give Taunt to any unit on the battlefield, it also gives Redemption, meaning when you use the taunt on the enemy team you will get a drawback too but sometimes it's still worth it, because you will be able to mess with your opponents strategy 😁 I will show you!

The battle I have saved to share in this post is a 52 mana Modern League, Armored Up / Earthquake / Target Practice battle with the Fire, Earth and Dragon splinters open to be chosen. Risqruel opens both the Fire as well as Earth splinter so I'm going to have plenty of options and it gives Flying to all of my units so I can just choose the best ones for what I want and not have to worry about if the are flying units or not.

First look at the battlefield:

My Line-Up:

• Summoner: Risqruel Drath - reason: Flying, combines Fire and Earth splinters.
• First position: Grund - reason: Dual Strike heavy tank.
• Second position: Firecaller - reason: Martyr.
• Third position: Quilliun Legionary - reason: Void.
• Fourth position: Chaos Evoker - reason: Blast, Ambush.
• Fifth position: Spirit Hoarder - reason: Triage.
• Sixth position: Drybone Raider - reason: Dual Strike with Shatter.

My plan in short: Martyr will die, boosting Grund and Quilliun which has Void and will be healed with Triage to take fire being in the snipe position for the Target Practice ruleset. Chaos Evoker has blast and with Ambush it will fire twice in the first round, it's attack with snipe and blast will do maximum damage.
Drybone Raider will fire twice and has shatter.

My opponents plan: Same tank, he's using taunt to bypass the Target Practice ruleset. It (it's a liquidity bot) also uses a blast unit for maximum damage.

With Risqruel's tactics I put taunt on the main enemy damage dealer, the tank, Grund, because now TWO units have taunt, my team will fire on Grund first, without him the most danger is gone.
This way I'm interfering with the enemy plan a lot!

The Battle:

Round 1: Because of the taunts, my blast isn't landing in the middle anymore but that's fine. The enemy Grund is killed, and my martyr died as planned. The enemy blast unit missed its attack so that's nice.

Round 2: The full enemy team took earthquake damage, the second taunt got killed as well and now there's not much left besides the slow Mycellic Infantry, good luck in hitting my much faster and flying team!
The blast monster Goblin Tower missed its attack again!

Round 3: He actually managed to hit my tank, he did well but it will be his last move 😈

Round 4: Quilliun Legionary made the killshot!

2.5 SPS and 276 Glint is pretty nice for my alt account 🙂
