Good morning everyone, depending where in the world you are, it's a Saturday morning for me in Europe and it's time to make my second Splinterlands Challenge blog post for this week, to hopefully earn a nice upvote because my account is very hungry for more funds, but I guess that's a 'problem' we all face, right? 😅

I recently bought two more land plots and I need to get them activated with some nice cards, I have one active - but only barely, it takes 35 more days before the grain farm is finished 😂
Shout out to my friend @cherokee4life for also diving in to land only yesterday, I explained land to him and the FOMO was real for him! 😂

So, this weeks Community Engagement Challenge is about our strategy for the new game mode called Survival, the top players are really going all-in on this new mode but the Splinterverse is already so immense I just don't have the time to manually play this mode, I run two guilds, my own two accounts in ranked play where I try never to let my energy reach 50, and on top of that I also run 3 alt accounts to support my guild in brawls, according to my wife I'm a Splinterlands addict! 😅

BUT.. because I have a pretty large amount of primarily 1 BCX cards I did make the preparations to have my accounts ready for Survival Mode automated play.

I'm now just waiting for Archmage to be able to handle the new game mode, Xbot was really fast with this but I don't mind the waiting, these cards have been doing nothing for the better part of the last two years anyway.

For fun, and for the sake of this post, I tried a couple of matches just before making the thumbnail for this post but I guess I'll stick to ranked play and let Archmage handle this. 😏

Preparation

Preparing to let the bot handle Survival Mode was a LOT of work though, I wanted to be able to use all the unused low level reward cards as burners for this mode and since they are soul bound I couldn't take the easy way and just delegate the whole bunch to an empty account, instead I went trough every card manually and unflag the cards I didn't want the bot to use for Survival Mode, deciding which ones was easy, at this point it's all my higher level cards I use in Ranked Battles and brawls but selecting them in game and waiting for the system to register my 'disable for survival mode' command took me about four hours for my two accounts combined... 🙄
Across my two accounts I have 4700 cards with multi BCX for many of them. 😱

So, at this point, it's just waiting for Archmage to launch Survival Mode on their end, which is currently in testing, from what I understood they are also handling the liquidity bots for Splinterlands and this had to be separated, so that's why it takes longer than for the Xbot team.

Top Battles

Looking at the top battles for Survival Mode I see they are very recently played and Kyl3 is really kicking ass, earning around 11 SPS for every win so it is a pretty lucrative game mode when you have a really large account with leveled up cards.

I don't count myself under this at all, I have a lot of cards but they are all level 1 so not competitive at all but I don't mind, this way they will at least get used and at the very least they will provide match liquidity at the bottom and when they win earn really small amounts of SPS, small drops make a shower, you know!?

Not a game mode for new players

Although there's a warning clearly stating your cards won't be able to be used in any other game mode when they are defeated, new players are trying out this mode anyway and then find out they can't play in ranked and brawls anymore...

This is from a Discord chat with a player I'm guiding, I noticed that some of the cards I delegated to him were disabled because of survival mode, lesson learned the hard way for sure... 😅

Vast Splinterverse

I think the cool thing about Splinterlands it that it keeps expanding, there is just so much to do already and there are cool things for everyone. It's just too many to participate in them all and that's not a bad thing, I love this game more and more, it's time for the world to see how awesome this is!

Well, it's a small post for me this time, I think this is a very cool game mode and it drives demand for cards, which is a good thing even if you don't touch this mode at all.
The top players are going heavy on this and are buying more max level summoners to be able to keep going for longer in Survival Mode to earn more of that sweet SPS.
