Hey fellow Splinterlands fans, it's time to make another blog post to take part in this weeks challenges so I can buy more cards to be more competitive, there are always desirable cards when you're not a whale, so extra cash earned with blogging is very welcome.
In the past couple of days I've been buying quite a lot again, I still have some funds left from selling my LEO tokens after it pumped quite nicely, a GREAT card I recently bought is Taye Loreswift at level 2, which is also the maximum for my Silver level deck, it's an awesome card - giving +1 melee damage to my entire team for only 3 mana makes it great to slip in most battle line ups.
The other expensive card I bought is Sheng Xiao, the Legendary Dragon Summoner but more on that later, because in this posts it's the MVP in the battle I'm going to share but this is a new era I'm entering, my first leveled up Conclave Arcana archon.
Until now I was playing with Rebellion archons only, so this already gives me a start when the next rotation in the modern league happens.
I also bought quite a lot of smaller, less important cards to level up because having more options is always nice for some tricky rule set combinations, and this one is pretty nice as well and not even very expensive:
The challenge this week is the same as last weeks, to talk about something amazing, for example something we had in our recent battles and in the battle I'm going to share later, Sheng Xiao is definitely a game changer so I'm pretty happy with it.
I'm having a lot of fun discover what I can do with it and adapt to my opponents line-ups, how the poison drops on the enemy team is a little RNG dependent of course but I'm quite successful so far.
Something has changed in the rating inflation, before I was fighting in Gold 1 and Diamond 3, sometimes even Diamond 2 but now I'm fighting in Gold 2 so this means lower rewards but also that I don't have to rent additional SPS so that's nice. It's also how the game is supposed to be, a Silver level deck should never be able to reach Diamond.
I was asking my friend @estebam how the season went for him because I was still in Gold 3 at that time, and he answered it was going pretty well, he was at position 18 on the Gold Leader board, so I was thinking wow that's amazing he has to be a lot higher than me!
So I checked and found out I was a little above him, at position 15 so although Gold 2 feels low for me after months in high Gold and low Diamond, I think something has been fixed and all Silver level players are affected by this so that's great, I have to admit today I hit a losing streak and Estebam is smart, he stopped playing in modern and switched to wild, so he is now at position 23 and I've dropped to 70 😅
I'm rambling again! Let's continue with the challenge!

Yup, it's Lorkus again, and while it's 'only' a Bronze level deck, @middle-earthling has some seriously nice cards, Mantaroth, Gramel, Venka and Barashkukor, all Legendary and expensive monsters, supported by another great one, the Arachne Weaver, nice deck for sure!
I knew I would have a lot of incoming magic damage and I didn't have anything to defend myself from it, no Silence or Void, so I could only make sure I had a lot of meat in the front of my team...
My strategy was simple, high HP getting healed by the Weaver so I could hopefully cut trough the front, when my front dies hopefully the poison will help me.
Round 1: A lot has happened already and both tanks got healed again, my tank will die soon so it spreads around poison...
Round 2: Both tanks died, unfortunately the poison didn't spread trough half of the team, but my Reaper has the poison burst as well... the 9 magic damage in the rear really hurts!
Round 3: O Shit this is going to be close!!
Round 4: How cool is that!? A mirror finale, Weavers and Barashkukors! Good thing my Weaver has Scavenge but DAMN there's no telling who will win!
Round 5: The enemy Weaver is killed, no more healing of Barashkukor's poison damage but still... 12 HP vs. 6 HP... This doesn't look good!
Round 6: O SHIT!! it's a tie for now... this will be RNG based, the poison will hurt him to 4 HP and then it's a matter of who fires first!
Round 7: The poison saved me plus the fact that my Barashkukor fired first! Thank you RNG gods! Without the poison I would have lost for sure!
You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
That was definitely a breakthrough, and very cool my newest Archon (and the only one from the Conclave Arcana set) is giving me lots of wins and fun!

Oh my god, I litteraly hate Sheng Xiao 😂 It's so annoying when your own monsters keep getting poisoned. And then RNG often hits me so hard that all three monsters get poisoned.
So I think it is a great choice to buy this summoner! 😂
Bronze level Xiao teams were even winning against my silver level deck, the poison is very strong, especially low mana
