Hello everyone and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog, it's a Saturday today and before taking the family out for a day of shopping it's time to make my second Splinterlands Challenge post for this week which is to make a post about the upcoming new card called Yaba's Pickle.

Some context for outsiders or casual players not following videos or podcasts

So this may seem like any other random card but a 'Matt Card' was requested long ago by the community so The Yababmatt card was conceived as a tribute to Matthew Rosen, known in the community as Yabapmatt, the co-founder and CEO of Splinterlands. His visionary leadership and deep involvement in the game's development inspired the creation of a card bearing his name, symbolizing his integral role in the game's journey.

Matt has steered the game the right way and started this game with his vision of making a Trading Card Game, owned by the players, not the company.

So, there finally was a Matt card created by the team, Archmage Yabanius available in the new Conclave Arcana packs, pretty rare and so far only 7 are for sale on the market with a price starting at $216 so it's not a card for the casual player.

🥒 The Quirky Addition: Yaba's Pickle

In a delightful twist, the Splinterlands team introduced Yaba's Pickle, a smaller, funny card that adds a touch of humor to the game's expansive universe. The announcement in the latest townhall was really funny with all the ambiguous 'pickle' comments

As Splinterlands continues to evolve, the introduction of characters like Archmage Yabanius and Yaba's Pickle not only enriches the game's lore but also celebrates the individuals who have shaped its path.

A Pickle was born!

The cool thing about the dedicated Splinterlands team is that they are not simply developers and artists, they are also passionate players and they have delivered more than what was expected of them before, and they did it again with not only Archmage Yabanius but also a cool and funny second card called Yaba's Pickle, a card without attack but able to be weapons trained and a must have in the deck of every modern player, more cards means more options which is always a good thing.

Yaba's Pickle stats:

Because we're not all max level players, I really like these stats charts so I can see how strong this card is up to Silver level where I am playing and at which level I want to have this card.

Looking at the chart, I want this card at least at level three, so 14 Card Copies (C.C.)

Because of the slow speed being only 2 at that level I don't think it's worth it to get it at level four to get the dodge since that's more than double the money needed, the next level however where it gets shield is really nice and makes it a perfect tank in battles without magic allowed, my focus for now is not at cards and I'm not sure if I want to spend $9 for that, but maybe when this post does well, I might do it anyway. 😇

SPS Staking Snapshot and my plans

With the SPS snapshot taken soon, I will be able to buy somewhere around 135 Card Copies because I have 135k SPS staked across my two accounts.
I don't want nearly that much so I plan to help my guild friends who started not so long ago so they don't have a lot of SPS staked just yet.

As I mentioned above, I want OR a level three (14 C.C.) OR a level five (60 C.C) for my modern account, I also run two bot accounts in Wild League and I think I will buy both of them a level two or three meaning I will be needed a max of 88 cards, leaving 47 available for my friends.

I will only be taking part of the first part of the sale, and not in the raffle however I think it's great that Splinterlands Land becomes a part of the rest of the game more and more, I like this a lot as a land owner with more plans to expand when the plot price allows it.

Exclusive foils available for everyone

I really like it that the black foils, worth significantly more and are at max level are available to be pulled by everyone and not just the top players, I hope many of them will fall in the hands of the common players who will probably sell them and that's perfectly fine because they don't have high level summoners to use these cards.
With the earnings they can give their accounts a flying start in this awesome game to grow faster and earn more, speaking for myself - I never thought I could be where I am today when I started playing this game 3.5 years ago, and I'm only a minnow.
