Good morning fellow Splinterfans, depending where in the world you are, but it is a great Saturday morning for me starting the day with the game I love...
I just grinded ranked play for about an hour so now it's time to make my second blog post for this week to hopefully earn some extra funds so I can keep expanding my deck, with the blogging earning from last week I've just purchased two new cards from the Conclave Arcana set I felt I was missing in my battles, I think this is the best way to slowly build your deck - just see and experience what you lack in building your teams.
I like using my Elias Max Pruitt but sometimes when the Life splinter is not available, the only Flank unit I had available was the 11 mana Ulund, and sometimes, 11 mana is just too expensive especially when combined with the obvious second in line, Commander Slade with 10 mana.
So Anyu needed to come a part of my deck and it was only $2!
I need to start saving up for the expensive legendary CA cards like Oridum Graybrow but then something like this happens and I spend it again 😅 well... eventually I'll get Oridum too!
Then I had a low mana battle I lost due to another card that was on my list my opponent owned but I didn't...
It's the Water Diviner, electrified kills my own team but in low mana fast battles with only 2 or 3 rounds, it can make the difference and I just wanted to have the option to be able to use it if needed, more options is always good!
Okay, enough rambling about the game in general, let's get on with today's main topic, the new Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge!
This weeks challenge is about showing off your favorite battle line-up, and I have two actually and before I knew this was going to be this weeks topic, without knowing I showed off my Cryptic battle line-up in this weeks Social Media Challenge post, so now it's time for the one I'm using the most in different variations depending on the rule set combination and available mana for me to use...
To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, check out the official Splinterlands post here.
Without owning either Tofu or Lorkus, my main go to is definitely Elias Max Pruitt (or EMP in short) and it's one of those meta plays out there...
Well.. I was right in the magic heavy team and the poor line-up, however, the higher level teams can still be a problem sometimes because they simply have better and more abilities and stats, Bellowmancer for example is a formidable tank and a pain to get trough with the Shield ability, good thing I have some magic units in my team as well.
Anyu in the fifth position is the line-up error of course, because this card should've be in the first position - I'm not complaining about that! 😁
Round 1: This round was a long round with 37 actions, and a lot has happened already, killing the enemy tank and almost killing the first Taunt unit, Bellowmancer (it's another unit on my list but expensive!). Notice Commander Slade's damage: 6 melee plus 9 Armor Strike, with piercing!
Round 2: Wow although this fight is a high mana battle, it's going to be a quick one! My tank is also gone now but since the enemy team is only attacking with magic, Slade's armor is at full strength to hit with!
Round 3: With 5 speed, Slade will strike first and with two attacks there's a very slim chance of missing so I think it's safe to say Slade made the final kill, winning me the battle!
Round 4: OUCH! Another win for me!
I think more players are active in Modern League now, because previous season my wins in Diamond were 5 - 8 SPS and now it's 4 - 6 but I'll take it! 😃
The glint feels less important to be right now because I'm just stacking it for the new reward set, but having more than one million by the time the new set launches will be awesome and something I have never done before.
You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
That's it for this week everyone, as far as Splinterlands goes anyways! Since I started cycling for a sport I'll try and make regular posts about my trips to try and diversify my hive account so it's not only Splinterlands related. 😊
I hope to see you on the next post, or maybe we will meet on the battlefield!
If you haven't made an account already, please consider using my referral link to sign up, I'll happily send the amount I get for your signup back to you in DEC or SPS to help you start.
Also, when you require any help to get you started, let me know, I'm here to advice and guide new players and maybe I can help you with card delegations too!
Have a great day!
